Antonio Grediaga Kieff (Canadian/Spanish, b. 1936). Abstract bronze sculpture of an abstract form on a slate base. Signed and numbered 1/5 along the base of the bronze.Antonio Grediaga Kieff was born in Madrid, and has been an educator and maker around the globe since the mid-20th century. Kieff is renowned worldwide for his biomorphic, organic, and flowing sculptures made from wide arrays of materials. Outside of works like these, Kieff's work shows similar forms to this work in bronze through painting, illustration, and jewelry. Here, like in many of the works in the artist's oeuvre, we see Kieff's legendary abstract swirling form create several modes of optical excitement.Height: 31 in x width: 10 in x depth: 10 in.Condition: The item is in generally good condition with no visible cracks, dents, or losses to the sculpture. No visible sign of restoration under UV light. Light wear throughout; dust collected as expected. The sculpture is firmly attached to the base. Along one of the edges, there is an unevenness to the surface towards the base. Throughout the sculpture, there are handling marks that are etched into the work, possibly from a previous polishing. The base has a minute loss to the side, which does not affect the sculpture. There are very light cracks to the base.

The rectangular top with raised ends houses a bronze dragon with pierced fretwork over a glazed door and opening to an arrangement of shelves, with one drawer with an archaistic style taotie mask pull with a red velvet backing. On a pierced fretwork apron and shaped bracket feet.Provenance: From the Estate of Horst Rechelbacher, Osceola, Wisconsin.Horst Rechelbacher, the founder of Aveda and Intelligent Nutrients, was a pioneer in the field of safe and eco-friendly cosmetics. After William "Bill" Tarr (American, 1925-2006). Bronze maquette of Tarr's monumental welded self-weathering steel cube sculpture in New York City in memorial of Martin Luther King, Jr. On a stepped wooden base.The original sculpture sits on a wide plaza on the Martin Luther King, Jr. Educational Campus, the former location of Martin Luther King Jr. High School, which closed in 2005. The steel, called Mayari R, was also used in a curtain wall of the building. The cube features sunken and elevated planes on which quotes and abbreviations are set alongside textured planes. Tarr was known for his abstract and textured cubic and rectangular brutalist sculptures.Height: 10 in x width: 10 in x depth: 10 in.Condition: The sculpture is in great condition with no visible cracks, dents, or losses. Group of five 18th c. Chinese teadust glaze vases or pots. Three marked along the underside. Cha ye mo, or "teadust" glaze, was used as early as the Tang dynasty produced at the Yaozhou kilns, but it was not until the early 18th century that the glaze was widely produced. It was ideal for reproductions of bronze originals due to the subdued color of the glaze.Height ranges from 3 1/2 in to 3 3/4 in; diameter ranges from 3 in to 4 1/2 in.Condition: The items are in good condition with no visible cracks or losses, or major chips. Light wear throughout as expected from age and use. Chips along the footrim, which do not significantly alter the overall appearance of pieces. Original firing and glazing flaws visible. The item, captured lower far left in the listing image, has a minute dent to the exterior and two white accretions along the underside. The item, upper left, has a minute dent to the exterior and a small area with overspray to the exterior. The item, lower far right, has a line of scratch to the exterior, measuring 2 1/4 in; there is an original firing flaw, which measures 1 1/4 in, towards the underside. All items show wear to the underside, consistent with age and use.

British and Italian WWI MC six place medal group to 2nd Lieutenant John Frederick Wright Oxford & Buckinghamshire Light Infantry, having started his military career as a Corporal in The Suffolk Yeomanry including MC, 1914-15 Star, British War Medal, Victory Medal, The Bronze Medal of Military Valor (Italian: Medaglia di bronzo al valor militare) Italian medal for gallantry this is inscribed on the back "Altopiano Di Asiago - 9-10 Settembre 1918" and Armata Altipiani Medal 1918, on original multicolour ribbon. Awarded for the Battle of the Piave, Asiago Plateau on 15th June 1918. Only 450 of these medals were recorded being awarded to British Officers. With his 'Officers record of Services' book. He took part in the Battle of Asiago having been credited as one of the officers of the Regiment being awarded an MC and Italian Brown Gallantry Medal for bravery in the Regimental records of the 1/4th Battalion Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry. Comes with an excellent selection of photographs of 2nd Lieutenant John Wright (One framed) and of the regiment.

Couture 1940's ball gown / court dress, labelled 'Augusto Moschini... Roma' ( the label has loss at the end of the name), full length bronze satin gown, with sweeping train which has a stiffened lining for full effect, the strapless, boned bodice and dress embroidered with bugle beads, appliqued velvet and sequin flowers, leaves and trailing stems. This probably had a stiff petticoat to hole the shape. There is fraying to the edges of the bodice and some slight signs in the skirt.This gown was made for the vendor's grandmother, history of the gown suggests only one other similar was made, in pale blue satin, for European royalty!
