Matchbox - A rare 'Prototype and Pre-Production' model of a Matchbox Ladder Fire Truck. The model in metallic bronze with red ladder features the Matchbox 50th Anniversary logo and has a glued base. The model appears to be in Excellent condition and was sourced by the Vendor from Matchbox USA (Mount Laurel) in 2001. The model is presented in a clear plastic bag. Number on bag is for identification purposes only.
dating: Third quarter of the 19th Century provenance: USA, Round, rifled, 41 gauge rimfire barrel, with foresight and mark 'COLT', swivelling on one side. Bronze frame with spur trigger. Hammer and trigger with remains of burninshing. Smooth, wooden grip scales. Working mechanics. length 13 cm.
dating: Second half of the 19th Century provenance: Austria, Slightly curved blade with jelman, featuring an anchor under crown on one side and the Imperial eagle on the other, remains of the producer at the base. Gilt-bronze hilt. Guard decorated in relief and partially pierced with Imperial eagle, mermaids and anchor. Long cap depicting a Triton. Grip with fish-skin covering and wire binding. Complete with wooden scabbard and brass hilts, decorated with anchor and floral motifs. Sword knot. length 81 cm.
dating: Late 19th Century provenance: Italy, Slightly-curved, single-tip-and-false-edged blade, with wide fuller at the center that doubles at the weak, engraved with trophies, floral motifs and Savoy badges at the first part. Gilded-bronze hilt with crowned anchor in relief and small valve at the back. Lion-shaped cap. Fish-skin grip with metal wire binding. Leather scabbard with gilded-bronze hilts with two lugs. length 92 cm.
dating: Second half of the 18th Century provenance: France, Very fine, straight, colichemarde, double-edged blade of hexagonal section, widened, engraved and gilded on a blue background with trophies and floral motifs towards the forte. Solid, bronze hilt with double valve (short quillon missing), finely decorated with floral motifs. Remains of leather scabbard with brass cap. length 92 cm.

dating: 16th Century provenance: Italy, Straight, single-and-false-edged blade, with a groove at the back, the tang with grooves on both sides; iron hilts with quillons shaped as a 'S', lower side-ring with heart at the center and loop guard; beautiful disk pommel with cross-shaped groove and bronze center; grip covered with wire binding and moor's heads of a later time. length 100.5 cm.
dating: Late 16th Century provenance: Italy, Wide, curved, single-and short false-edged blade, hollow tip, double central fuller and dorsal groove, at the end of the back towards the weak two teeth, rectangular tang; iron hilt with 'S' quillon, quillons enlarged towards the ends. Wide, iron pommel, on one side in the center a bronze flower, on the other side an oval medallion with a biblical scene in bas-relief. Grip with copper wire binding and moor's heads of the following era. length 79.5 cm.
dating: about 1620 provenance: Saxony, Straight, double-edged blade of lozenge section, with short tang; iron hilt with rectangular quillon block, short quillons with drop-shaped edges, parry ring with small sphere at the center; olive-shaped pommel; checkered, bronze grip of lozenge section and widening upwards, with narrowed, smooth base. length 38.5 cm.

Fine bronze hilt with small front valve decorated with a deer's head and with a hunting trumpet in high relief, guard with quillon block featuring a deer and a wolf, the pommel shaped as a wild boar's head. dating: circa 1700 provenance: Italy, Smooth, three-stage, 12 mm cal. barrels; octagonal at the first part then two round segments separated by rings, curiously signed with two different signatures, 'GERONIMO DAFINO' the first, 'LAZARINO COMINAZZO' the second (surely one broke down over the years and one of the gunsmith copied the other). Flintlock signed 'FRANCO BIANCO', the cock screw chiselled with a rosette of leaves. Slightly sculpted wooden full stock (small missing parts, damages and restorations). Bronze mounts partially chiselled with floral motifs. Brass-tipped wooden ramrod. Pistols with old label of the Palazzo Internazionale delle Aste e delle Esposizioni (International Auction and Exhibition Palace), number '224'. length 55.5 cm.
dating: Second half of the 18th Century provenance: Austria, Smooth, two-stage, 13 mm cal. barrels, octagonal at the first part then round and with rib and foresight, engraved and decorated with floral motifs and geometrical patterns over the entire length, remains of burnishing; tang decorated en suite; forward spring lock, converted to percussion, lock plate with fine engravings representing old-fashioned figures with trophies on a dark background, the cocks engraved with snakes and spirals on a dark background, chiselled pistons with fish-shaped safety lock. Briarwood full stocks sculpted with floral motifs (cracks and small restorations). Beautiful gilt bronze mounts (not completely intact gilding), counterplates decorated with hunting scenes from the XVIII century in bas-relief, trigger guards with small palms and floral motifs, plate with small hunting scenes and floral motifs around the tangs, butt-pltes shaped as a eagle's head finely modelled and engraved. Gilt brass tipped wooden ramrod. Small defects. Wonderful pair of high-quality pistols. Patinated. length 41.5 cm.
dating: Third quarter of the 19th Century provenance: Italy, Faceted, rifled, burnished, 9 mm cal. barrel, single-piece with tubular magazine, marked 'VENDITTI 6 C.I LANCUSI' among floral patterns, with foresight; bronze frame with burnished iron plates on the sides, decorated with floral engravings; trigger guard with lever and ring; grip with checkered wooden grip scales; flat butt-plate without ring for the strap. Working mechanics (to grease). Pietro Antonio Venditti, Torre Annunziata and Naples (1828 - 1878). After being released from forced works, following a conviction for murder, he opened his first activity in Torre Annunziata; after several patents he made his famous repeating pistol, making it for ten and even twenty-six shots. dating: 16th Century provenance: Germany, Toothed haft with forked spike and hook, wheel in a closed box, slightly engraved and provided with stamp lined with bronze; curved handle decorated with spirals, with twisted wooden grip (small missing part) and bone base. The lower part with twisted rope ring (modern restoration). Good quality. Scarce. length 35.5 cm.
dating: circa 1800 provenance: Italy, Bronze barrel with moulded muzzle, divided into five segments by rings, finely decorated with a coat of arms of the Medici under crown, at the center, among the leaves in bas-relief, the vent shaped as a lion's mouth, cylindrical trunnions. Fine dark green patina. Mounted on a wooden gun carriage with wheels and iron mounts, damages and missing parts. length barrel 24 cm.
