Ferdinand Preiss (1882-1943) a cold-painted bronze and ivory figure ‘Pierrette’ c.1925, signed on bronze hexagonal base F Preiss Modelled, cast and carved as a young woman wearing a red conical hat and a pleated dress, on an hexagonal bronze base mounted on an octagonal marble plinth 18 cm high Literature: Bryan Catley, 'Art Deco and other Figures', Antique Collectors Club, Suffolk, 1978, p268 (similar figure illustrated)Ivory: small chip to the edge of the brim of the hat to the side/back. Some colour touch-up in places to the hat, including the chip, with some flaking to the original colour as well. There is a possible tiny loss to top of one finger? but it could be just how it is carved - not seen with naked eye.Bronze: a tiny indentation to top edge of one fold on the front of the skirt. Overall the cold-painted colour is in good condition, with some rubbing to high points. Marble: some tiny chips and nicks to the bottom edge of the plinth, with light natural wear to the underside.Please note that this lot contains ivory. Ivory is an endangered material with very strict rules about export/import. If you plan to take this lot out of the UK please check with your shipper if you can before bidding. Some countries do not allow the importation or exportation of ivory. Ivory rules are under review in the UK.

A tiny nick to blue on the dress. Some wear to the gilt on the raised bands on the cloak and top of hat. Light natural wear to base.No certificate.

Light natural wear. Overall good condition.

Raoul Larche (1860-1912), an Art Nouveau gilt-bronze figural table lamp of Loie Fuller c.1900, signed Raoul Larche, L243, Siot Decauville Fondeur Paris Modelled and cast as the celebrated dancer, her swirling skirts billowing above her and concealing the light bulb, electrical elements 32 cm high Provenance: Purchased Macklowe Gallery, New York, August 14th 1998 Note: Loie Fuller (1862-1928) was an American actress who moved to Europe in 1892 and made her home in Paris. Her 'Serpentine Dance' was created using her long voluminous silk skirts and coloured stage lighting and she choreographed her movements to great effect. Her Art, the dance, was almost a physical embodiment to the Art Nouveau Movement with its emphasis on sinuous and organic forms.Indentation and abrasion on her forearm. A few old marks and light natural wear. Some scratches on the inside where the fitments and light bulb fits in. Felt/card covering bottom.Electrical components have not been tested, and should be examined by a qualified electrician prior to any intended use. Re-wiring may/will be needed

Zsolnay, a good Eosin glazed ceramic vase with twin elephant-head handles and stylised fish decoration c.1905, raised Zsolnay circular spire mark, impressed 6353 M Possibly designed by Nagy Mihály (1864-1943), the shaped vase decorated with stylised leaping fish amidst waves, applied with elephant head handles, their trunks extending down the sides, decorated in red and cream and a lustrous Eosin glaze 36.5 cm high Literature: Eva Csenkey, ‘Zsolnay Szecessziós Kerámiák’, Helikon, Budapest, 1992, p.123, image 151 (a jardinière of horizontal form modelled at either end with elephant heads by Nagy Mihály is illustrated)Some scratches on the sides , some areas of dirt and some small elements of glaze shrinkage on the decoration and base edge. A few abrasions to the elephant trunks - more on the green/gold one. Some fine marks to the clay beneath the glaze and some streaking to the colours in places. Some abrasions to the neck rim that have removed the top surface of the glaze in small areas. The elephant heads have fired differently one is more green gold the other more green bronze. Inside there is a firing flaw to the hole where the elephant handle was attached - for firing. The base rim on underside has wear. There is crazing to the glaze. Overall this vase is in good condition and presents well. Please ask department for photographs.

Seifert Modelled and cast as an Art Nouveau maiden carrying water, with one of her buckets dropped in the pool at her feet, on integral bronze base and marble plinth 16.7 cm highThere is a section of wire missing - that would have attached to the dropped bucket to her hand. Rubbing to surfaces and high points and a few tiny abrasions on one arm. A bit dusty.

Some light tarnishing. The casting is good quality. Box: a few stains to interior silk/fabric. Some occasional scuffs to exterior.

A cold-painted bronze card box, possibly American First quarter 20th Century Bronze box cast with lug handles, raised curvilinear bands, the sides decorated with the heads of two kings, a queen and a knave, the top with four suit motifs painted with later soft-enamels, and centred with a bronze finial of a jester holding a hand of cards, wood lined, with key 24 cm square, with handles 29 cm wideThe four suit motifs on the lid are soft enamels - presume they have been restored? Some of the black has rubbed off. In general old marks, wear and some scratches to exterior . Wood interiors has a small chip to the top left corner - but generally clean and tidy. Wear to base.

René Lalique (1860-1945), a pair of 'Cluny' patinated bronze and polished glass HandlesUnsigned, designed 1925Each handle having a moulded light-smoky-glass classical mask held in a bronze mount, the stylised ribbed hair terminating with five serpents heads19.5 cm high (2)Note: The handles were made to be part of the 'Cluny' vase designed in 1925 by René Lalique (Marcilhac no. 961). The masks would have sat on the sides of the globular vase and the serpents open mouths would have grasped the rim of the everted rim.NO VASE - only the handles.Glass:- One mask has a small chip to the top of one eye lid, a few scratches on her cheek and chin - on the back of this mask there has been some grinding.Bronze: - there are some old marks and scratches and some rubbing to high points.
