Attributed to Robert Cauer (the Younger): A Bronze Figure Group of a Young Boy and Girl], standing in conversation on a canted rectangular plinth, signed, 42.5cm *Robert Cauer the Younger (1863-?) was born at Kreuznach in 1863, the son and pupil of Karl Cauer. He studied in Rome and spent three years (1889-92) working in the United States, where he produced numerous portrait reliefs and busts. From 1893 onwards he worked in Kreuznach and Berlin. He was born in Paris, studied under his father, and was also a pupil of Salmson. He exhibited at the Salon from 1870 onwards and won an honourable mention in 1897.
