Great War Medal Pair 10th London Regiment, consisting of British War and Victory medals awarded to “424181 PTE E S G ALFORD 10-LOND R”, medals are housed in the original boxes of issue and complete with registered address envelope. Accompanied by three single Allied Victory medals awarded to “35009 PTE J GOOSEY YORK & LANC R”, “426062 PTE T A E PEARSON 10-LOND R” and “18149 PTE A T SMITH ESSEX R”. Medals also accompanied by a small bronze Royal Review medal. Private Alford served in France from 30th May 1917 until 11th January 1919.
WW2 Royal Australian Air Force (R.A.A.F) Officers Side Cap, fine example in the dark blue cloth as all items of uniform of the RAAF. Bronze officers two piece cap insignia and front buttons. Interior with officers quality lining having date letter “M” over WD arrow, makers stamp and inked details of the original owner, “A286041 F/L DEAVES”. Accompanied by a Royal Australian Air Force other ranks side cap without badge. Black cloth lining to the interior. Both show service wear but generally good condition. (2 items)
Fine Collection of Birmingham City Fire Brigade Medals of Station Officer A Allsford 1920’s – 1930’s, the collection of 26 medals consisting of 3x 9ct gold medals, 17 hallmarked silver medals and six bronze medals. The medals all relate to fire fighting competitions won by Allsford during the 1920’s and 1930’s including Ladder Rescue, One Man Hydrant, Motor Escape, Motor Pump, Four Men Hand Pump, etc. Most have fine quality enamel work to the obverse with firefighter scenes to the centre. Three gold medals weigh approximately 10grams, silver medals 200grams.

Great War Third Battle of Gaza Casualty Medal Group 10th London Regiment, consisting of 1914-15 star “1931 L CPL G A D SEWELL 10-LOND R”, British War medal “1931 SJT G A D SEWELL 10-LOND R”, Bronze memorial plaque “GEORGE ALBERT DANIEL SEWELL”. Accompanying the medals is original paperwork including a permit to travel on Kantara Military Railway dated 24th June 1917. Sergeant Sewell landed with the 10th London regiment at Gallipoli. He continued to serve before being killed in action on 2nd November 1917 during the third battle of Gaza. He is buried at Gaza War Cemetery.

Great War 10th Battalion Essex Regiment Officers Shoulder Rank Tunic, good example of a four pocket 1917 pattern shoulder rank tunic which is divisionally badged to the 10th Battalion Essex regiment. To the breast pocket is medal ribbons for the Distinguished Conduct Medal (D.C.M), Queens South Africa medal and Indian General Service medal (IGS). To each arm is original cloth divisional insignia as worn by the 10th battalion. Brass regimental pattern buttons to the front, pockets and shoulder straps. Bronze OSD regimental collar badges. To each shoulder board is three bronze rank pips indicating the rank of Captain. Cloth lining to the interior of the tunic. Overall a good example of a regimentally badged officers tunic.
Pre-WW1 Imperial German Presentation Shooting Prize Statue of the Kaiser, fine bronze painted cast alloy bust of the Kaiser in full military regalia mounted onto a turned wooden plinth with plaque having engraved presentation “Entfernungsmefspreis der Infanterie-Schiessschule 1909”. Artist signature mark to the reverse of the bust. Stands 28 ½ cms tall. Accompanied by a paper card patriotic postcard frame of the Kaiser and Austrian Emperor. (2 items)
Imperial German and Imperial Austrian Patriotic Figure of German and Austrian Officers Charging into Battle with Swords and Regimental Standards, a highly attractive and well detailed standing bronze figure measuring 35cms from base of the granite rock to the tip of the flag of the Austrian officer, both figures are wearing pistol holster, back pack, pickelhaube and Austrian field cap, carrying their swords and regimental standards. The figures stands on an actual piece of granite, with oak leave spray and an engraved plaque “Bundestreue”. Top finials of both standards absent but otherwise good condition.
Hollow Bronze Figure of an Imperial German Artillery Officer, wearing full field uniform with detailed numbered shoulder boards, artillery pattern officers pickelhaube, belt with holster and standing resting on his sword on a rough ground. No artist signature can be found. Stands 45cms tall.
Great War 10th London Regiment Casualty Medal Trio and Memorial Plaque, consisting of 1914-15 star medal trio awarded to “1568 PTE C W HALL 10-LOND R” and Bronze memorial plaque “CHARLES WILLIAM HALL”. Allied Victory medal has been re-named. Acting Sergeant Hall was killed in action during the 3rd Battle of Gaza. The objective of the 1/10th London regiment was to attack a strong point called “Fred” on the right and Belah trench on the left. The attack failed because of lack of support from the tanks and artillery guns was to lift the barrage from at the critical moment of the advance. The two leading companies suffered heavily, both losing all their officers and senior NCO’s. No 2 company who’s objective was to take Fred was almost reached, with two platoons found dead lying in front of it. It is confirmed on his MIC that he was killed in action on 2nd November 1917. He is buried at Gaza War Cemetery.
Great War Casualty Medal Pair and Memorial Plaque 10th London Regiment, consisting of British War and Victory medals awarded to “420523 PTE D CROFT 10-LOND R”, Bronze memorial plaque “DANIEL CROFT”. Medals are mounted for display and accompanied by original case and forwarding envelope for the memorial plaque. Private Croft was born in Whitechapel and enlisted in Hackney. He died of wounds received on 26th June 1918. He was serving with “D” company at the time of his death.

Medals remain in good condition. Private Christopher Slayford served with the 2/10th London Regiment. He died of wounds received on 10th May 1917. Private Slayford was from Rotherhithe, London.
Pre-WW2 Presentation Statue in the Hero of the German Army Form, fine bronze bust of the Hero of the German army wearing steel combat helmet. Mounted onto a marble base with engraved brass presentation plaque, awarded in 1931 by the NCO’s and enlisted men of Sanitätsstaffel Frankfurt (0der) to Generalarzt Dr Gerlach. Statue stands 30cms tall.
Great War Casualty Medal Pair and Memorial Plaque 10th London Regiment, consisting of British War and Victory medals awarded to “423691 PTE F CARTER 10-LOND R”, Bronze memorial plaque “FREDERICK CARTER”. Medals remain in generally good condition. Private Frederick Carter was killed in action on 8th August 1917, he was from Stratford, London and is buried at Bailleul Communal Cemetery Extension.
Great War Casualty Medal Pair and Memorial Plaque 10th London and Labour Corps, consisting of British War and Victory medals awarded to “424019 PTE A CREES 10-LOND R”, Bronze memorial plaque “ALFRED BERTIE CREES”. Mounted on a display board with brass Labour Corps cap badge. Private Alfred Crees was from Aston in Birmingham. He died on the 14th November 1918 and is buried at Premont Cemetery. He also served in 103rd Company Labour Corps.
Scarce Cased Luftwaffe Spanish Cross (Spanienkreuz) in Bronze Without Swords, fine example retaining much of the original bronze finish to the obverse and reverse of the award. Complete with its original pin and catch fixing to the reverse. Housed in the original green leatherette case with silver tooled LDO mark to the centre of the lid. Very good example overall.
Cased Third Reich NSDAP 25 Year Faithful Service Cross, complete with its original ribbon. The box with makers label for Rudolf Karneth; bronze DRA sports badge with pin back fitting; silver grade SA Sports badge with damage to the wreath; Veterans association 1938 shooting award arm badge and a Kriegsmarine other ranks cap eagle and cockade combination. Great War Casualty Medal Pair and Memorial Plaque 10th London Regiment, consisting of British War and Victory medals awarded to “420822 CPL P H WELLUM 10-LOND R”, Bronze memorial plaque “PHILIP HENRY WELLUM”. Medals court mounted for display. Private Philip Henry Wellum was from Prittlewell, Essex. He was killed in action on 30th May 1917. He is buried at the HAC Cemetery Ecouts St Mein.
Third Reich Bronze Grade Close Combat Clasp by FLL, good combat worn example retaining just the remains of the bronze wash from the obverse of the award. Reverse is missing its central plate. Marked “FEC W E PEEKHAUS BERLIN” and makers mark for Friedrich Linden Ludenscheid. Complete with the correct pin and catch fixing to the reverse. Much of the bronze finish still remains to the reverse of the award.
Great War Casualty Medal Pair and Memorial Plaque 10th London Regiment, consisting of British War and Victory medals awarded to “423562 PTE S T STRIBLING 10-LOND R”, Bronze memorial plaque “SAMUEL THOMAS STRIBLING”. Medals remain in good condition. Private Stribling was killed in action on 27th March 1918, he is commemorated on the Arras Memorial.
