Reed cutters loading a cart in a landscape oil on canvas laid down to board 135 x 203cmCondition report: Oil on canvas which has been laid onto a large piece of hardboard. The original stretcher has been retained and glued onto the reverse of the hardboard. The canvas has a few holes and tears which have been stabilised by attaching to board. The paint layer has localised areas of drying cracks in the darker paint passages. The paint layer is stable overall. There are yellowed stains in the area of the sky which is old overpaint or varnish. The surface of the painting is matte, exacerbated by a thick layer of dust and dirt. The frame has been bronze painted.
