A fine stiletto blade with gilt bronze hilt, circa 1820-40 with tapering triangular blade moulded at the forte, gilt-bronze hilt cast and chased with rococo revival designs in low relief, the crosspiece formed as a gaping lion with rams horns, the grip formed as a vertical open form comprising a warrior spearing a serpent, the latter being attacked by a salamander, retaining much early polish and gilding, 6 1/8in. A fine cased take-down sporting airgun by Durs Egg early 19th century, 32½in. (82.5cm.) smooth-bore octagonal two piece barrel, approximately 54-bore, the top flat with D. Egg London pincoin, gold line at breech, flat stepped lock with gold pincoin repeated, engraved with sunburst, birds and foliage at the tail, bevelled cocking lever, bronze globe flask reservoir, chequered half-stock, steel furniture and bronze tipped ramrod, in green baize lined case with pump, wrench and bullet mould. Approximately 48½in. (123cm.) assembled length. *Provenance: Sotheby's, April 1988, lot 203. **Durs Egg (1748–1831) was a Swiss-born gunmaker who established a business on the Strand, and later Pall Mall, in London. A 19th Century French ormolu bronze mantel clock / bracket clock in the manner of Japy Freres. The clock with central decorative gilt dial with black Roman numeral chapter ring and faceted hands. The case set with scrolled spandrels, applied scrollwork and case with acanthus leaf detailing. The top surmounted by a large urn finial and the case flanked by large lion mask handles. Raised on paw and bun feet and set on a period carved stepped plinth. Pendulum present. Strikes on a bell. No visible makers mark. Measures approx; 43cm x 23cm x 16cm.
