Egg London pincoin, gold line at breech, flat stepped lock with gold pincoin repeated, engraved with sunburst, birds and foliage at the tail, bevelled cocking lever, bronze globe flask reservoir, chequered half-stock, steel furniture and bronze tipped ramrod, in green baize lined case with pump, wrench and bullet mould. Approximately 48½in. (123cm.) assembled length. *Provenance: Sotheby's, April 1988, lot 203. **Durs Egg (1748–1831) was a Swiss-born gunmaker who established a business on the Strand, and later Pall Mall, in London.
