§ Hamish Mackie (British, born 1973), Elephant Seals, bronze, modelled engaged in combat, signed in the bronze 'Hamish Mackie, 2011, 3/12' 24.50 x 62 x 17cm (10 x 24 x 7in) Hamish Mackie (b 1973) is a British sculptor whose study and depiction of animals has brought him great recognition. Mackie travels the world to study wildlife in situ and his understanding of anatomy and handling of his materials results in strong, dynamic, 'living' sculptures. In 2014 he won a major public art commission - the Goodman's Field Horses in the City of London. He has had works of art commissioned throughout the world and has exhibited in the USA and England. He is currently exhibiting in Luxembourg. He works from his studio in Oxfordshire.

A large body of his work is housed in his former home at Faulconbridge, New South Wales - now the Norman Lindsay Gallery. Today Norman Lindsay etchings, drawings, paintings, books and sculptures are keenly sought after and major pieces rarely come on to the open market. A little browning around the edges but fine.
HIRST, DAMIEN - FREEZE [ART EXHIBITION CATALOGUE] London, Canary Wharf Ltd, 1988. First edition, 4to, illustrated throughout, original bronze-coloured laminated cover. 'Freeze' was an exhibition conceived and primarily-organised by Hirst, with other students from Goldsmith College, which became the inaugural showing of the YBA (Young British Artists). It was held in an empty London Port Authority building at Surrey Docks, in July 1988. The high-quality catalogue was designed by Tony Arefin and it includes an essay by art critic Ian Jeffrey.
