Tibetan bronze of Tara surrounded by a mandorla representing the Ring of FireHeight: 43cmInfo from the vendor - This piece was originaly sourced through a scolar with a PHD from Oxford university, who lived on the boarder of Tibet and China for 4 years studying the history of the tea trade. This piece is full of interesting symbols each with a story of its own. The Ring of Fire represented by the mandorla is an ancient symbol derived from Vedic imagery; meaning that the flame of wisdom can burn away ignorance and purify the faithful. Tara appears to be holding the “Vase of the Elexir of Eternal Life”, symbolising that enlightenment results in eternal life. The earrings are probably Lotus flowers, a symbol often seen in Budhism, Hinduhsm, Sikhism & Jainism - The growth of its pure beauty from the mud of its origin is sometimes said to mirror the path from a human mind to an enlightened one
