ARTHUR DOOLEY (1929-1994) Mother and Child Monogrammed and dated '71, 56cm high Bronze on circular base ARR CONDITION REPORT: Coll No. FRAC 071 Overall very good condition,. Dark mark to elbow/hip area at right hand side. Some very slight pitting to surface, particularly at back. Appears patinated, uncleaned for a long time.
Extensive and valuable unused collection from 1865 to 2011, in three volumes, almost all basic stamps present, together with a number of shades and an impressive range of KGVI 'key plates', better items incl 1865-1903 perf 14 1d rose-red (2), 2d dull blue (2), 3d yellow-buff (2), 6d dull mauve and 1s green, 2ds without gum, others small part to large part o.g., 1874 3d on 1s surchs incl SG 13, 13b and 14 (last two with RPS Certs), part o.g. (SG 13, 13b) or re-gummed, all with faults (as often), 1875 1d on 2d, 1d on 3d and 1d on 1s (SG 15/17), first re-perforated, SG15/16 unused or re-gummed, last large part o.g., all with RPS Certs, 1883-1904 to 1s, 1902-10 Dry Dock types to 4d, 1910-25 and 1922-34 Ship types to 1s incl shades, 1918-22 watermark MCA 2s to £1 incl a few shades, 1920-21 Tercentenary sets, 1924-32 watermark script 2s to 12s 6d incl 2s 6d grey-black & pale orange-vermilion/grey-blue (SG 89h) very fine large part o.g. (Brandon Cert) and 2s 6d black & bright orange-vermilion/deep blue (SG 89k) part o.g., 1938-53 2s to £1 with printings arranged by despatch date, scarcer printings incl all vals line perf 14¼, 5s bronze-green and carmine-red/pale yellow (SG 118c), 12s 6d grey and yellow (SG 120d) with BPA Cert, QEII appears quite comprehensive, cond of earlier issues sometimes variable, generally fine from early 20th cent. (lightly hinged) with some KGVI and almost all QEII u/m, an excellent lot (Hundreds)
