A large and impressive Japanese bronze group of a trumpeting elephant being attacked by two tigers, signed Morimitsu, Meiji period: naturalistically cast , the ivory-tusked mammal with one tiger clambering on its back, the other attacking its raised left leg, the tigers with low relief striped markings, signed in a rectangular reserve, lacks tusks, 74cm. high, 87cm. long.
