A Chinese Bronze Kylin Incense Burner, Qing Dynasty, 18th/19th century, standing with well detailed mane and horns centred on its head, the head hinged, the body with raised scrolls, standing on a slender dragon, 38.5cm high Heavily cast and structurally sound. There is one tip of the pointed mane (centre section) knocked off, piece not retained, and possibly other upper one resoldered? 310513
A Chinese Silver Inlaid Bronze Figure of Guanyin, signed Yutang Shisou, Qing Dynasty, the goddess of mercy seated looking gently downwards, her forehead with a silver urna, wearing jewellery and flowing robes inlaid with silver wire cloud motifs, holding a scroll in her left hand, upon a rocky base and flanked by a vase on a rocky protuberance, the back with silver wire inlaid four character inscription, 36cm high Small casting hole/puncture on her left sleeve, near wrist. The base has a piece of green cloth glued to the base which now has a copper sheet across it (possibly later). Some casting faults on the back of her robes and a firing stress crack. Some rubbing to extremities. Slight dent to the rim of the small vase at her side. 130613
A Japanese Bronze Group of a Hawk with Pheasant Prey, late Meiji period (1868-1912), the hawk with outswept wings alighted a cock pheasant turning in alarm, 41.5cm high, 50.5cm wide Old(?) solder repair between hawk`s legs. The wings slot in and slot out of its body and are slightly loose. Wing tip feathers slightly misshapen, otherwise good. 130613

Some minor scratching and tarnishing. Wear to patination, particularly on stand. 220513
A Japanese Parcel Gilt Bronze of a Maiden, late Meiji period (1868-1912), standing full length in a kimono embellished with peonies and cloud wisps, her hair in an elaborate chignon with cloud wisp tiara, a scarf flying around her neck, holding a fan in her left hand, 49.5cm high The exposed base insinuates that the piece perhaps stool on a stone or wooden shaped stand, now missing(?). The fan she holds has been bent backwards so the sticks around her fingers are stressed and appears to be small repairs. Otherwise, apart from slight stress marks and typical casting flaws the piece is structurally sound. It is dusty and probably requires a clean. 130613

After Giambologna: The Rape of the Sabines, Bronze, late 19th century, as a nude Roman, cloak over his shoulder, struggling with an upheld nude sabine, upon canted rectangular veined marble flat plinth, 34.5cm high The marble figure of the Rape of the Sabine Women by Giambologna is in the Loggia Dei Lanzi in Florence Several chips on the marble base and filled stress cracks etc in the same. The bronze itself has a heavy contrived patena, some slightly varied colour and intensity. 310513

Bronze good overall with thin brown patina. Some patches and scratching on buttocks and neck/shoulders. Slight dents on the bronze basal rim. 310513
After the Antique: Dionysus, Bronze, Italian, 2nd half 19th century, modelled with a grape vine wreath in his hair and downcast gaze, on a waisted stand and ebonised turned wood socle, stamped GS, 25cm high; and Another Similar, Ariadne, also marked GS, 24cm high (2) Rubbed on the raised parts. Some scratching on the right side of his chest. Some rubbing of the ebonising on the lower part of the turned socle. Based on the famous antique marble capitoline Antinous (Musei Capitolini, Rome). 2nd bronze good overall with just a minor dent on the bronze socle rim and a few dents/scratches on the ebonised base. 310513

Some discolouration of the gilding. Impurities and faults in the marble and general small chips, especially to the sharp rims. 310513
A Pair of Italian Grand Tour Pietra Dura Plaques, 18th/19th century, rectangular, one depicting three figures by fallen masonry by buildings, the other of a Nubian figure and merchant by a bridge and tower, in diverse minerals, contained in gilt bronze moulded frames, 20cm by 28.5cm Three figures - slight flake where several bone pieces meet (centre of panel). Crack top left angle. Nubian - stress crack running from top centre at approx 30° to horizon. Vertical hairline crack running over that fault line, and other natural flaws, cracks and scuffs. Small flake damage bottom left corner. Some slight flaking around the back rim of the piece where it meets the unusual jocketed screw thread brackets which hold the plaque in place within the heavy gauge frame.
