COWLING. 17-LOND.R, and 1914-15 Star to same with certificate from Record Office Machine Gun & Tank Corps Alexandra Palace, N22 conferring medal upon No 23916 Pte F H Cowling, "M G C" had he lived, the scroll to Pte. Frederick Henry Cowling Machine Gun Corps, with various medal ribbons and On War Service 1914 brass badge; with four London County Council Punctuality and Attendance medals engraved to F Cowling for years 1905-1909, and: Three similar punctuality medals to L Cowling 1909-1913 Four to N Cowling 1908-1913 Five to E Cowling 1911-1920 and one to R Cowling 1905 23916 Pte Frederick Henry Cowling Machine Gun Corps (INF) formerly 3170 in London Regt, died of wounds aged 21 on 15/09/1916, buried in Dernancourt Communal Cemetery Extension (on the Somme).
