Early transport interest: an extremely rare George III bronze eagle carriage mount by The Burton Coach Company of Great Russell Street. Incised inscription to base: 'Published as the act Directs by Tho. Burton & Co No. 60 Great Russell St Bloomsbury London Sept 14 1810'. Thomas Burton, coach-builder was born 21st January 1787 at St. James, Westminster and died in 1855. The will of a William Burton coachmaker of Great Russell Street Bloomsbury was proved on 5 November 1830, 9 1/2'' wide.
DUCHOISELLE, FRENCH BRONZE SCULPTURE, C. 1866, H 12 1/2" W 18", ALLEGORY OF FISHING: Signed, "Duchoiselle". Depicting a Native American woman seated on a canoe, a sculpture from an allegorical series done of hunting and fishing. Mounted to a rouge marble base, measuring H. 12 1/2" x 18". Circa 1866. A group of four Scandinavian glass items to include; Kumela glass vase with applied bronze band to rim by Pentti Sarpeneva, Stromberg 'Shark's Tooth' glass vase with tonal brown colouring, clear Orrefors glass bowl and a Hadeland shallow circular glass dish with internal design by Willy Johansson, all bearing engraved signatures.
A pair of Sèvres porcelain and gilt bronze mounted urns, each decorated with figures in a garden setting within an enamel bejewelled border on a bleu-celeste ground with panels of flowers and musical instruments / garden tools verso, bear blue crossed L marks with letter A for 1753 and decorator's mark "EC" to underside of lid, 30 cm high CONDITION REPORTS One lid broken into numerous pieces and with cracks, chips and losses which have been fillered and over--painted, paint very yellowed and discoloured, other lid with firing cracks around underside of rim, various losses to the jewelled deocration to both lids. One urn with several large discoloured cracks/breaks to both sides, some glue to cracks, some losses to jewelled decoration. Both urns and lids have at some time in the past been restored and over-painted - this appears to have been professionally carried out and it is not possible to ascertain the extent of damage beneath the restoration.
TITZE - an early 20th Century German bronze of standing nude figure awakening, raised on a marble base CONDITION REPORTS General wear, scratches, knocks, etc. conducive with age, upstretched arm has been off and appears to have been professionally repaired (see images), there is a screw protruding from the back (see image) of the rock, plinth base has knocks and nibbles to edges (see images).
A pair of 19th Century French gilt bronze table lamps of ornate foliate grape and vine design, each 67.5 cm high CONDITION REPORTS Some denting and mis-shaping to top acanthus section and these are fairly loose, generally some knocks and bumps to edges, columns have some movement and are not currently quite vertical, bases are currently covered so not possible to inspect underside.
