A metal inkwell, in the form of a dog, with hinging jaw and glass eyes, 13 cm high, and two table match strikers, one applied a budgie and the other applied a pheasant (3) Condition report Report by GH The dog inkwell is generally in reasonably good condition with dents all around the edge of the brass base, and general wear, scratches and ingrained dirt and old polish. Hinge has probably had a new pin. No major damage or repairs. Both table match strikers are generally in good condition, with some small chips and losses to paint. These do not appear to be cast in bronze but a lighter metal, possibly aluminium or spelter. The dog inkwell generally carried more weight and appears to be a higher quality and older piece.

A Japanese bronze vase, of baluster form, decorated fish, signed, 18.5 cm high Condition report Report by NG Wear to base, with some heavy scratches. Some heavy scratches and rubbing to body of vase, especially to the one fish in highest relief. A couple of other marks and rubbings to surface. Two character marks visible.

MEDAL COLLECTION Collection of medals and tie-pins etc presented to referee Neil Midgley, 3 x tie-pins one of which has a small sapphire coloured stone inset, all three are from overseas clubs/football associations, seven medals including large bronze coloured metal medal celebrating 75 years of Benfica, a medal issued by Real Madrid in 1984 presented to officials at the 6th Bernabeu Trophy, a pewter coloured metal medal from Olympique Lyonnais, a medal with case from Malta, a pair of Arabic issue cuff-links which seem to be gold although not hall-marked, a sundry enamel medal and a Rugby League Centenary tie-pin and badge. Most items are with cases. Good

- 1 of 17 examples built and 1 of 3 known survivors - Body by Hughes Ltd in Kenya - Finished in Spruce Green - Extremely rare barnfind for restoration 109E18717 rolled off the production line at Dagenham in 1961 as a grey two door saloon. Interestingly it then formed part of a small batch of seventeen examples that were delivered to Hughes Ltd, Ford's then main agent in Nairobi, where Cassini & Hughes would convert them into station wagons for police use. Following its conversion, and for reasons unknown, the car returned to the UK in August 1964 being registered BLR 298B. By the late 1970s it was in a sorry state and was acquired by Bob Renshaw who restored it replacing the original 1340cc engine with a 1500cc unit. By 1992 the car was deteriorating again and was purchased by John Cantwell who set about another rebuild, changing the colour from Bronze to Spruce Green and re-registering it 2271 RU. Following its completion the car was a regular on the show circuit being featured in Popular Classics magazine before again falling into disuse. Displaying some 74,000 miles and one of just three known survivors, this rare barnfind is ripe for another restoration and comes with Swansea V5 and history information as researched by John Cantwell.
