A French Art Deco verde antico and sienna marble inset clock garniture, the case of arched and stepped form, with 4½" circular convex gilded dial signed P. Chereau, with vine leaf applied gilt bronze mounts, eight day movement striking on a bell, w.45cm, with pendulum and winding key, together with a matching pair of garniture, h.16cm (3). Clock height 25cm, depth 12cm.No makers name, stamped 780.Clock not currently working when wound.Repair to Sienna marble, some nibbles to edges otherwise marble good.One garniture with fingernail surface chip to top upper right hand corner at front edge.Further repairs to chips at corners.Gilt bronze mounts slightly worn but otherwise good and complete.

Awarded to girls of the BdM between the ages of 14 and 21 for successfully passing tests in first aid, nursing, home-crafts, athletics, and political ideology, during a 12 month period. The bronze was awarded for maintaining Leistungsbuck I. Maker marked on reverse "RZM M1/15" and serial number "82957".
