An Edward VI cased Board of Trade bronze medal for Gallantry in Saving Life at Sea awarded to Arthur Lee 'Ennisbrook' 18th October 1908. The medal comes with a letter from the Board of Trade Marine Department stating that His Majesty would present the medal if the recipient were in the country and a further Board of Trade letter and envelope both signed by Winston Churchill and dated 1st February 1910: 'Sir, I have great pleasure in transmitting to you the accompanying bronze medal for gallantry in saving life at sea, which His Majesty The King has been pleased, upon my recommendation, to award to you as a mark of appreciation of your services in endeavouring to rescue Ali Said, fireman of the S/S 'Ennisbrook' of Glasgow, who fell from the gangway into the river Parana when coming on board at Puerto Borghi, Argentine Republic, on the 18th October 1908. It affords me much gratification to be the medium of forwarding this medal to you. I am, Sir, Your Obedient Servant, (signed Churchill)

Part of Corporal Hodgson's citation is mentioned in an accompanying newspaper clipping: September 1977, his troop came under fire by terrorists near an old ruin in thick bush. His troop killed most of the terrorists. Sergeant Hodgson personally killed seven or eight (mentioned in Contact page 175)

An exceptional Selous Scouts Rhodesian Bravery Group of General Service medal, bronze cross and silver cross awarded to 644719 Sgt Rangarairayi Hungwe circa 1975, possibly listed in the book 'Contact' page 154 under his Christian name (copy included): 'For conspicuous courage and gallantry over and above the call of duty on operations in the North Eastern Border area...Private Rangarairayi has displayed outstanding personal courage in numerous encounters with the enemy which has resulted in a large number of terrorists being killed or captured and a substantial amount of arms, ammunition and equipment being recovered. In one encounter....whilst being fired on, Private Rangarairayi, ignoring the firing and with no thought for his personal safety, rushed the enemy endeavouring to capture one of them. During the struggle the terrorist was shot dead. ... During these actions he displayed cold nerve and personal courage of the highest order which has been an inspiration to all' With two medal certificates and a photograph of the recipient with his unit and 'Pamwe Chete' colours, many of the unit named in pencil verso.
