A pair of Chinese bronze and enamel vases, circa 1900, each with ring handles on a taotie mask with archaic decoration above the swollen body with a band of cloisonne taotie masks and scrolls, all on a circular foot, each with pseudo Xuande seal mark. Height 21.5 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The cloisonne enamelling on both has lots of pinhead holes and the odd chip and vacant cell but nothing too obvious or detrimental in my opinion. There are no signs of any breakages or repairs. The interior of each around the swollen body is crazed throughout. The rings on the handles are not soldered or fussed together. No post production defects visible.
WW2 German KIA Luftwaffe collection. Fine set of 16 documents and two decorations for Wachtmeister Helmut Benecker, of 2 Fernaufklarungsgeschwader 101. He joined Luftwaffe in 1937 and serve with flak units until 1942 March, when he entered pilot training. Decorated with EK1 and 2, Frontfluspange bronze and silver. He was killed in a flying accident in August 1944. Documents includes, His Wehrpass with lots of entries for flying kit etc, Arbeitsbuch, Ahnenpass, EK1 and 2 citations. Award document for Tatigkeitsabzeichen der Flakartillerie, Award document for Flugzeugffuhrerabzeichen, Reischsportabzeichen award document, super studio photo of Benecke and several other documents relating to his academic and civilian life. Original Flugzeugffuhrerabzeichen silver medal, rare item and a cloth version of the pilots badge unworn, grey oilcloth backing. All original items scarce collection. Good condition Est.

Egg Patent', figured full stocks with chequered rounded butts, one with border engraved steel mount for the figured skeleton take-down butt, the latter with cheek-piece, spring-lever catch with engraved locking bolt, and border engraved tang along top engraved 'D. Egg's PATENT BUTT', border engraved mounts comprising spurred pommels each engraved with differing trophies on both sides and with lion-mask cap, trigger-guards in the 'French' manner and each with pineapple finial and a martial trophy on the bow, turned ramrod-pipes, fore-end caps each engraved with starbursts, and contemporary brass-mounted ramrod (the other later) (3)23.5 cm. barrels

An Extremely Rare Italian Short-Sword Or Dagger (Cinquedea) In Original Cuir-Boulli ScabbardLate 15th/Early 16th CenturyWith broad triangular double-edged bright blade (minor areas of scattered light pitting) cut with two shallow fullers forming a low medial ridge over each side, the left fuller on both sides struck with a bladesmith's mark, a small star, the forte on both sides etched and gilt with panels of scrolling foliage issuing from cornucopiae on one side and from a vase on the other, all against hatched grounds, and divided by a flattened tapering panel etched and gilt in Latin 'FIDELITAS ET AMOR' against a hatched ground on one side, and 'ANTE ME VENTURA' on the other, hilt comprising flat arched tapering iron quillons etched and gilt with flowering foliage along both sides, one side centred on a male profile portrait medallion, and along the upper surfaces with overlapping scales, flat arched pommel (pommel-cap missing) and grip formed of two dark horn scales (minor insect damage, one with old split beneath the pommel) each against a brass shim and inset with four roundels of Gothic tracery in iron filigree, the grip with bevelled edges drawn-out to a central point on both sides, gilt-bronze grip strap (incomplete) embossed along each side 'DACES FOTRTUAT [UM?]', and retaining much of its original gilding, in exceptionally rare original cuir-boulli scabbard (open at the tip) tooled along the outside with two symmetrical panels of acanthus between double line borders and against finely stippled grounds, and at the top with two pairs of vertical lines and central pocket for a by-knife (missing) tooled en suite, the inner side cut with tabs for suspension 54.8 cm. blade, 68 cm. overall
