After Auguste Moreau (French, 1834-1917): a contemporary bronze figural sculpture coffee table, modelled as a child sleeping in a hammock bed, with rounded rectangular glass surface, bears signature to base 'Aug Moreau 7/99', base 46 by 114 by 45cm high, surface 1.5cm thick, 74 by 140 by 46.5cm overall.
Doreen Kern (British, 1931-2021): Miss Bluebell bronzed plaster bust, signed and dated '87', numbered '1', 25 by 20 by 40cm high, with ephemera, including a signed copy of George Perry's book nine photographs and prints, which show Miss Bluebell with the bust, two letters, an invitation to the Paris Lido, a bronze version of the bust was placed upon Miss Bluebell's grave and later stolen. Provenance - From Doreen Kern's collection and artist's studio (Artist and Sculptor 1931-2021)
Doreen Kern (British, 1931-2021): a limited edition Alistair Maclean bronze bust, signed, numbered '1/8' raised upon marble plinth, 18 by 21 by 45cm high, with plaster maquette bust, a/f, and ephemera, including a signed photograph of Maclean with the sculptor and sculpture, with handwritten dedication 'My love to Doreen Alistair Maclean', 20.2 by 25.5cm, two photographs of both Maclean and Kern posing with the bust individually, two part print sets of Maclean by Godfrey Argent, with related letter from Collins Publishers dated 2nd February 1972, used to prepare the sculpture, a handwritten letter dated 29th March 1985, from Marcelle Maclean passing on her condolences to Kern after the death of her mother, with a polaroid of Marcelle with Kern, and a copy of Jack Webster's biography of Maclean, with signed dedication to Kern, on p. 206-7 there are references to both Marcelle and Kern in relation to the Maclean troubled private life, together with 16 volumes of the author's novels. A Late 19th Century Russian Silver and Champleve Enamel Spoon, by Nikolai Alekseyev, Moscow, stamped 88 standard, decorated with floral and scroll ornament, 8ins overall, gross weight 2.6oz and oak fitted box for sameCondition - The enamel to the bronze of the spoon appears to be in good condition. There is horizontal crack through the enamel around the circumference of the handle and the lower part of the enamelling to the handle (close to the spoon bowl). There is a very small area of associated loss to enamel. There is also loss to three white enamel lappets (out of a total of four), at the very lowest part of the enamel close to the bowl. One lappet shows 100% loss to enamel. The other two loss of perhaps 1/3rd to 1/2. Two white enamel lappets to the upper part of this zone of enamel with loss.Some gilding, particularly to the handle is worn.The original (?) oak box is in good condition, apart from some scattered scratching to the top and underside of base.
