Mougin and numbered 757, the twin garnitures similarly modelled as quivers, each with four scrolling candle branches. 51 cms high. A pair of Chinese turquoise ground pottery models of cockerels, probably Kangxi Each naturalistically modelled on pierced rockwork, standing on an associated gilt bronze stand. Each 36.5 cms high. (2) CONDITION REPORTS: Both with chips and losses, predominantly to beak area, glaze pitting/wear, some restorations, patination wear to stands.
A pair of substantial and impressive Spanish painted cast iron urns on plinths in the early Modernist style, late 19th century, each with twin scrolling handles rising above an egg-and-dart cast rim from stylised foliage at the shoulder, with scrollwork descending below to the waisted socle, on square section lobed bases, one inscribed for `COMAS, BARCELONA`, 114cm high, 138cm wide; on rectangular section painted iron plinths, height overall, 207cm. The Comas Foundry was established in 1853 by Jaume Dora, in the Raval in Barcelona, on Carrer Tigre, 10. The foundry manufactured machines, metal castings and moulds, as well as works of art including the 60 meter high bronze Columbus Monument (1883-1888) which was completed just in time for the opening of the Universal Exhibition in 1888. Despite the renown of the firm though, the foundry saw diminishing orders towards the end of the century and was forced to close, and by1903 the site was being utilised as a dance hall
An Austrian cold painted bronze figural inkwell Formed as an Arab man kneeling on a carpet and reading a book beside a coffee table, the hinged lid enclosing the well, the underside with Bergman mark. 14.5 cms wide.
