AN EARLY 20TH CENTURY JAPANESE PATINATED BRONZE OVIFORM VASE ON A TURNED WOODEN STAND. The vase inlaid with silvered and two-tone gilt chrysanthemum and other flowers, on a speckled gold coloured ground, signed with three character mark to reverse, on a circular wooden stand, height of vase exc. stand 30cm high (2)Overall in good order. Small chip to the inner reeded neck, some very minor wear to the surface patination and the coloured metal inlay. The stand with some typical minor wear.
A LARGE AND IMPRESSIVE VIETNAMESE SILVER AND COPPER INLAID BRONZE CENSER ON STAND, 19/20TH CENTURY. The censer heavily cast of rectangular form set on four scroll legs with separately cast, elaborate cloud scroll handles, to each side are four auspicious characters above figural scenes inlaid in silver and copper. The pierced cover surmounted by a large 'Nghe' lion dog finial. The stand with central rectangular pierced section further decorated with inlaid decoration of various flowers, supported on four scroll feet. Total height 56cm tall. Weight 17.8KGIn good overall condition with no signs of damage. loss or repairs. Minor surface wear throughout.

A CHINESE HEAVILY CAST BRONZE MODEL OF A LUOHAN, 17/18TH CENTURY. The emaciated figure stood holding his robe which is tied at the waist. The robe decorated with clouds, floral scrolls and key fret around the edging, with traces of gilt and red lacquer. 17.5cm tall. Weight 1350 grams.Provenance: From a private local Bath collectionNo signs of damages or repairs. Loss to gilt and lacquer decoration. Surface wear to note with aged patina.
AN EARLY 20TH CENTURY JAPANESE BRONZE OF THE HOLY KANNON BY KOUN TAKAMURA (1852-1934). Kannon, the Bodhisattva of mercy and compassion, modelled standing on a circular base holding in her left hand a lotus bud stalk, her hair in a topknot adorned with the hokan (jewelled crown), draped in a johaku (decorative scarf), signed with seal at the reverse, 39cm x 11cm x 11cm base, weight approx. 2.7kg Koun Takamura (1852-1934), was one of Japan’s most celebrated sculptors and a professor at the Tokyo School of Fine Arts. Some overall minor wear to surface and patination, some the lotus is loosely placed in aperture in left hand. Some wear to parcel gilt areas.

The finial has been drilled through the centre of the cover.The porcelain is unexamined under mounts at the mouth and foot, however the line where the glaze finishes at the mouth is still visible, suggesting some integrity to the mouth rim. Further very fine hairline just above the foot, approx. 20mm long.Expected old wear consistent with age include general malachite and dirt encrustations, and insignificant scattered nicks.
