Zaire Civilian Merit Medal (Médaille du mérite civique classe argent Zaïre Congo) in 2nd and 3rd class medals. They are Civilian Awards for Merit, in Bronze. The design feature a central Maltese Cross with broad bladed knives between the arms. Interestingly this design is based on similar Civil Merit awards issued when Zaire was a Belgian colony.

A gilt-bronze mirror with openwork scrolled tendrils to the long edges, pelta to each short edge, the upper one with flanking dolphins; central rectangle with scrolls, pointillé detailing and ropework border, D-shaped silver reflecting panel; pierced lug handle to the reverse. 126 grams, 14cm (5 1/2"). Fine condition, usage wear. From an old British private collection; formed between 1975 and 1985.

A bronze fitting in the form of the forepart of a galloping horse, legs extended forward and head held down; iron tang to the rear; mounted on a custom-made stand. 195 grams total, 50mm including stand (2"). From an important London collection, acquired in the 1990s. Very fine condition.
1st-3rd century AD. A bronze amuletic pendant of a phallus form with loop. 13 grams, 35mm (1 1/2"). Property of an Oxfordshire gentleman; acquired from Ancient Times in 2007, with the original sales card. Cf. Allason-Jones, L. & Miket, R. 10th-5th century BC. A substantial penannular ornamental fastener tapering to each end, with opposed trumpet terminals. 12 grams, 18mm (3/4"). Extremely fine condition. From a central London collection formed between 1990-2000. Cf. Taylor, J.T. Bronze Age Goldwork of the British Isles, Cambridge, 1980, plate 47.

6th century BC. A Greek Archaic bronze nude standing male figure with prominent facial features and genitals. 109 grams, 10cm (4"). Fine condition. Ex V.C. Vecchi and Sons Ltd., Great Smith Street, London, 1971-1985. Cf. Megaw, R.& V. Celtic Art. From its Beginnings to the Book of Kells, London, 1989, figs.6, 19. Small figures such as these were offered at shrines during the Archaic Period in Ancient Greece.
