Willy Kreitz (1903-1982), the head of an elegant young lady, signed bronze on an ebonised plinth, 41cm high overall. Willy Kreitz won many prestigious prizes for his sculpture including the Prix de Rome in 1932 for a life-size plaster nude. Although rooted in the classical style, he was at the forefront of the Modernist movement of the early 20th century in Europe, creating many sculptures through the Art Deco and Postmodernist eras.
