Provenance: by direct descent to the present owner Catalogue Note: Eustace Henry Wilding (1873-1939) lived at the family home of Wrexham Place, Stoke Poges, nr Slough, Bucks, after studying at Cambridge he was a 2nd Lieutenant in the Royal Flying Corps (special reserve), was a member of the Rhododendron Society and an author of books on Rhododendrons, E H Wilding was father in law to James Foulis Hay (see above lot)

Arthur Dooley (1929-1994); a large bronze figure entitled 'Marguerite with Hat', no.1/1, the square onyx also mounted with polished bronze plaque inscribed 'Marguerite with Hat by Arthur Dooley, Danny La Rue Party Night Ball 20-10-75', with impressed marks verso 'AD 75', height 62cm, sold with certificate of authenticity signed by Arthur Dooley and a catalogue of Dooley's work in which the figure was featured. † CONDITION REPORT Purchased by the vendor's father Arthur Wainwright at a charity auction hence the inscription on the brass plaque, there is wear commensurate with age and pitting in places, some surface wear and scratching and slight evidence of oxidization but overall in good condition.
