A Chinese Taoist bronze model of the Jade Emperor, typically designed seated in a huanghuali type chair and grasping a panel of jade, 23.5cm high with a similar model on a ogee plinth base, 25cm high, and a bronze Ming warrior, modelled seated, 21cm high (3) (at fault) CONDITION REPORT: Seated Jade emperor on ogee base- Reverse of figure extensively split and showing losses (see images). Hollow interior with casting remanent's. Body with splits and pierced holes. Grubby surface and commensurate wear. Right foot of base repaired. Other seated Jade emperor- Casting hole to reverse of figure. Hollow underside but filled top section. Some splitting and piercing to the body. Right hand side spindles and arm of chair missing. Tips of fingers broken. Lacking one side finial to head piece. A detachable wooden block has been placed to the underside of the figure in order for it to stand on a surface. Ming warrior- Appears slightly crude when compared to the other figures. Split section to dress between legs and further smaller splits. No obvious losses. The reverse of the base is rough and crude. Commensurate wear visible. See additional images for clarification.
A Chinese archaistic bronze vase, hu, Chong Zhen four character seal mark, the large bronze vase extensively decorated with geometric yun wen strap work enclosing four reserves to either side depicting Baku, fish and other mythical creatures amidst waves, featuring Shou medallions and zoomorphic lugs flanking the neck with relief decoration depicting dragons chasing flaming pearls, the underside bearing Chongzhen four character seal mark, 37cm high CONDITION REPORT: The overall decoration appears in rather good condition. No obvious signs of restoration, concerning cracks or splits. Foot rim showing some dents and nicks. Seal mark appears tight. General blemishes, grubbiness and light surface wear. Interior unpolished and dirty.
A Chinese cast bronze censer, of compressed circular form raised on a tripod vase with a plain polished exterior, character marks to underside, 17cm diameter CONDITION REPORT: Unpolished rough interior. No splits or cracks. Edges of each foot show some light wear. Overall appearance is rather good. Some general surfaces scratches and blemishes.
A Chinese bronze vase, Hu, decorated in relief to the exterior with two phoenix's, the cylindrical neck flanked by two zoomorphic lugs, apocryphal six character Yongle style six character mark, 11cm high CONDITION REPORT: Interior rather grubby, unpolished and showing commensurate wear. Foot rim shows some nicks and dents. Interior with some surface scratches, general blemishes and minor dents. However, the overall appearance is good and no obviously apparent cracks or signs of restoration are visible.
A Chinese bronze archaic style censer, Xuande mark, of quatrefoil form raised on four masked legs and decorated externally in relief, 16cm wide CONDITION REPORT: Rim descending split. Surface wear visible throughout. Rim shows some nicks and dents. Interior is unpolished. Wobbles when placed on a flat surface. General blemishes and wear visible throughout.
A Japanese bronze koro and cover, late Meiji period, the compressed globular body raised on a tri-pod base decorated in relief with an archaic band and surmounted with a hardwood cover, 14cm high CONDITION REPORT: Exterior appears in good condition. Some surface blemishes and light dents visible. Rim showing some wear with nicks and dents visible. The pads of the feet appear worn. The interior is worn and unpolished and does show two areas of repair (see additional images). Wooden cover showing some splits.
A Japanese polished bronze vase, 20th century, the tapered navette shaped vase decorated with mixed metal decoration, raised on a compressed base on four feet, signed to the side and underside, 13cm high CONDITION REPORT: Small noticeable dent to one side of the vase. Surface scratches, blemishes and wear with smaller less concerning nicks and dents. Signed to the underside and lower side of the vase.
