Late 18th / early 19th century English school, three fine oval ivory portrait miniatures in gilt bronze frames of Tudor notables. One titled to the front as John 1st Duke of Northfolk, also Henry Howard 1st Earl of Northampton and Guillaume Gouffier, seigneur de Bonnivet. Each with inked inscriptions by the artist verso, one detailing that the Howard picture was copied from an example in the collection of Mr Walpole. miniatures 52mm x 61mm, frames 65mm x 73mm. Surmounted with a figure of Napoleon Bonaparte, with enamel dial over an oval cartouche decorated in relief with a battle scene. With a shaped scrolling apron and raised on bracket supports, 57cm high. Condition Report. To be used as a guide only. Case in good order. Chipping to the dial. No key or pendulum.
