John Mills, ARCA, PPRBS, FRSA (British, 20th Century) Hanging Service Jackets signed lower right "John Mills" watercolour 41 x 28cm; and Bronze Panels - Hanging Uniform and other Service Equipment signed lower right "John Mills" watercolour 50 x 33cm; and 2nd Projection Drawing for the Monument to the Women of World War II signed lower right "John Mills" pen and gold ink 56 x 42cm (3) These are unique preliminary planning drawings for the Monument to the Women of World War II unveiled by HM Queen Elizabeth II The National Monument to the Women of World War II is situated in Whitehall, London to the north of the Cenotaph It was sculpted by John W Mills and was dedicated by HM Queen Elizabeth II on July 11th 2005 The Monument stands 22 feet high, 16 feet long and 6 feet wide. The lettering on the sides replicates the typeface used on war time ration books. There are 17 individual sets of clothing and uniforms around the sides, symbolising the hundreds of different jobs women undertook in World War II and then gave back to the homecoming men at the end of the War (see also lot 402) #700-
Herbert Chapman's personalised bound volume of Arsenal programmes for 1925-26 his first season at Highbury, the red cloth covers titled gilt ARSENAL FOOTBALL CLUB LTD., PROGRAMMES, SEASON 1925-6, HERBERT CHAPMAN, ESQ., the volume containing first-team League and Cup, reserve matches plus Northern Nomads v Redhill F.A. Amateur Cup s/f & London Combination v London League Having achieved great success at Huddersfield Town Herbert Chapman was tempted to Highbury by Arsenal Chairman Henry Norris in the summer of 1925. Chapman laid down the foundations for Arsenal to become one of the most formidable teams in English football. He brought an F.A. Cup and two Championship titles to the London club before his tragic death due to pneumonia in January 1934. He is commemorated by the club with a bronze bust which stood in the marbled hall at Highbury and is now housed at the Emirates Stadium. This bound volume of match programmes is from the great man's first season at Highbury in 1925-26 when the Gunners finished runners-up in the League behind Chapman's old club Huddersfield Town.

To include an oval medallion inscribed "Royal Dublin Society Exhibition of Manufacturers to Mr. Thomas Grubb For an improved Weighing Machine 1844" and a circular medallion inscribed "Highest Award for Transit Shutter Howard Grubb F.R.A.S". Six medallions awarded by the Dublin Society, one for the Cork Industrial Exhibition 1883 and four others, all un-named. Total 16 pieces.
