A functional hero Book of the Dead from Stephen Sommers' action adventure The Mummy. The Book of the Dead was one of two prominent Ancient Egyptian artefacts to feature in the film, and was first discovered in a chest located at the Statue of Anubis by a group of American treasure hunters. Evelyn Carnahan (Rachel Weisz) and Rick O'Connell (Brendan Fraser) accidentally used the book to raise the ancient priest Imhotep (Arnold Vosloo) from the grave. The heavy book is primarily made of resin finished in black to resemble obsidian, and features several intentionally tarnished brass metal components. Intricately decorated, the front cover features sporadic curved lines, an Egyptian hieroglyph insignia on the left side, and raised scarab beetle emblems. Finished in shades of faux bronze, the large circular resin lock section displays an embedded sun-shaped emblem, where a key would have been inserted. The embellished metal spine displays 12 individual strands attached to each internal page. Designed to hold the front cover in place, four metal vulture-like clasps are inserted into the scarab beetle emblems and are adjoined to uniquely designed hinges. Located within the book are 12 resin tablet pages covered in ornate hieroglyph detailing. To open the book, the circular mechanical emblem on the cover must be twisted in an anticlockwise direction, which causes the two clasps on the right side to pop up. To close the book, the two clasps should be pushed down into their corresponding slots and held. The emblem should then be turned clockwise causing the locks to fix back into place.Intentionally distressed for the production, the weighty book exhibits minor wear from use and remains in a fragile state. The front shows minor paint wear and glue remnants. A small hairline crack is present within the lock section, and the back displays light coloured spots. The book is accompanied by a promotional still showing Imhotep holding the book. Dimensions: 37 cm x 37 cm x 12 cm (14 1/2" x 14 1/2" x 4 3/4")Contains mechanical components; see mechanical components notice in the Buyer's Guide.Estimate: £20,000 - 30,000 M
A hero Dagger of Megiddo from Richard Donner's horror The Omen. The sacred Seven Daggers of Megiddo were the only weapons that could be used to destroy the Antichrist Damien Thorn (Harvey Spencer Stephens). In the town of Megiddo, exorcist Carl Bugenhagen (Leo McKern) showed Robert Thorn (Gregory Peck) how the seven daggers should be arranged in a cross formation, and explained that the ritual had to be performed on hallowed ground. Originally obtained from actor Leo McKern, this dagger was one of 12 made for the production. This hero dagger comprises a thin metal hexagonal blade, a curved crossguard and a decorative pommel. A cast emblem of Christ and the letters "IRNI" adorn both sides of the grip, and the majority of the piece is finished in faux-bronze paint. The Latin initials on the dagger are meant to stand for "Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews", often initialled "INRI". However, the production made a mistake with the order of the letters, an error subsequently corrected for the film's sequels. There are signs of use and age present on the dagger, including corrosion on the blade, glue remnants on the base of the blade, and wear to the paint finish. The lot comes with a handwritten letter of authenticity from McKern, which has faded over time, a black-and-white still autographed by McKern in blue ink, two additional stills and an acrylic display stand. Dimensions (displayed): 33.5 cm x 8 cm x 3.5 cm (13 1/4" x 3 1/4" x 1 1/4")Estimate: £30,000 - 50,000 M
Quark's (Armin Shimerman) disruptor pistol box and bar dart sets from sci-fi television series Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. Quark tried using his pistol to defend his bar during the fourth season opener "The Way of the Warrior", but discovered his brother had stolen it for parts. Chief O'Brien (Colm Meaney) asked Quark to put up a dartboard in the bar, and he played regularly with Doctor Bashir (Alexander Siddig). The box is made of metal and resin, painted bronze. It features a sliding locking mechanism on the front that secures the lid in place, and has black foam padding within. There are 19 darts in total, with five complete sets and two sets of two. The box shows some scuffing to the paint, revealing the metal beneath. The darts show minor wear, and several of the flights are damaged or bent. Dimensions (box): 10.5 cm x 28 cm x 8.5 cm (4" x 11" x 3 1/4"); (longest dart): 16 cm x 3.5 cm x 3.5 cm (6 1/4" x 1 1/4" x 1 1/4")Estimate: £500 - 700 M

Small red-and-green pieces of acrylic have been added for detailing, to give the appearance of buttons. When the black button is pressed, the display screen illuminates and the red-and-green acrylic pieces flash. The device has some wear from production use and age, including scuffs and scratches. There are small areas where paint has chipped away, revealing the resin underneath. Dimensions: 15 cm x 8 cm x 5 cm (6" x 3" x 2")Estimate: £800 - 1,200 M

There is some wear from production use and age, including some chipped paintwork on the injector, and scuffs, scratches, minor cracks to the vials. One vial also has tape on one end. Dimensions (injector and vial): 13 cm x 14 cm x 3.3 cm (5" x 5 1/2" x 1 1/4"); (each vial): 8 cm x 1.3 cm x 1.3 cm (3" x 1/2" x1/2")Estimate: £600 - 800 M
Darth Vader's (Hayden Christensen) hero lightsaber from George Lucas' Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith. Anakin Skywalker was renamed Darth Vader when he turned to the dark side, and took his iconic armoured form after sustaining mortal injuries during a duel with Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor) on the fiery planet of Mustafar. Kenobi ultimately took his weapon, forcing Vader to create a new lightsaber hilt design, which he would use throughout his remaining days as a Sith Lord. This particular lightsaber did not appear on-screen in the final cut of the film, as it was clipped too far around on Vader's belt, and therefore hidden beneath parts of his costume. However, it was seen in numerous publicity stills and promotional photos. The lightsaber was gifted by the film's producers to celebrated stunt coordinator and sword master Nick Gillard on completion of the prequel trilogy. The main body of the lightsaber is constructed from turned aluminium and is decorated with several detailed components made from resin, rubber and metal. Some sections of the hilt display a mirror-silver chrome finish. Seven black rubber strips form the handgrip and a round power indicator is situated on one side. Located at the centre of the hilt is a Sith crystal chamber, which features a silver-coloured strip decorated with a black geometric design and a protruding activator switch. The two blade power adjusters are painted in shades of metallic faux bronze and the top of the hilt features a bevelled emitter shroud. Minor signs of wear from production use are present on the lightsaber, including light surface scratching on the chrome finish, light paint wear on the power adjusters and visible remnants of glue around the edges of some of the rubber strips. It is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Gillard and a copy of Star Wars Revenge of the Sith: The Visual Dictionary. Dimensions: 28.5 cm x 5.5 cm x 5 cm (11 1/4" x 2 1/4" x 2")LiteratureAn image of Darth Vader's lightsaber can be seen on page 63 of Star Wars Revenge of the Sith: The Visual Dictionary, published by Dorling Kindersley.Estimate: £40,000 - 80,000 M
