A Ming dynasty bronze 'Champion' vase. the twin cylindrical vases cast with daodieh and joined by the wings of an eagle standing on the head of a bear whose paws rest on the foot rims, 45.5cm (18 in) high The eagle's feet are loose from the bear's head at the ankles and the dowels securing the bird's wings to its body move a bit like hinges. There is an ancient crack to the shoulders of one vase.
