A French gilt brass wall clock in Gothic style, early 20th century, the elaborate case with bronze bird perched above the protruding encased drum dial having inset enamel numerals, bell striking movement, with a pair of bronze gryphons below 114cm highThe case has a bright finish, and the movement is a twin barrel French drum type which is fixed to the underside of the dial. This is secured in place with three small screws through the outer bezel, but cannot be accessed without doing so. Has a small pendulum which we have removed. The piece is quite heavy and needs a robust fixing to suspend it from. We have not had it running but we are told it was running before it was removed for sale - it is fully wound we note. One or two of the enamel numerals are a little chipped, but the overall case looks to be largely OK.
