MeleagerBronze, gegossen; Meleager aus der griechischen Mythologie mit einem Jagdspeer in der Hand und einem Jagdhund an der Seite; auf Sockel montiertH. 43 cm (ohne Sockel)Privatbesitz, WienIn der griechischen Mythologie war Meleagros der Sohn von Oineus, dem mythischen König von Kalydon, und seiner Frau Althaia. Da Oineus die Jagdgöttin Artemis beim Opfer umgangen hatte, schickte diese einen die Gegend verwüstenden Eber. An der Jagd auf ihn nahmen viele der griechischen Helden teil, wie die berühmte Jägerin Atalante. Ein Pfeil Atalantes traf den Eber zuerst, Meleager aber erst erlegte ihn. Sein Fell schenkte er Atalante, zu der er Zuneigung gefasst hatte. Das brachte die Brüder von Meleagros' Mutter Althaia gegen ihn auf. Im Streit erschlug er diese, worauf seine Mutter ein bis dahin gehütetes Holzscheit verbrannte, von dem geweissagt war, dass nach seinem Verbrennen Meleager sterbe. Die Weissagung trat ein, worauf sich auch Althaia umbrachte.
Milos BorcBüste "Herbert von Karajan"Bronze, gegossen, dunkel patiniert; vorne signiert: "BORC" für Milos BorcH. 47,5 cmHerbert von Karajan (1908–1989) zählt zu den bekanntesten und bedeutendsten österreichischen Dirigenten des 20. Jahrhunderts. Er wurde u. a. zum Ehrenbürger der Stadt Wien ernannt. Die Wiener Staatsoper verlieh Herbert von Karajan die Ehrenmitgliedschaft und ließ im Schwind-Foyer des Hauses eine von Milos Borc im Jahre 1970 in Mailand angefertigte Karajan-Büste aufstellen, die der Staatsoper gewidmet wurde. Eine weitere vergleichbare Büste befindet sich in Privatbesitz.
Louis XV-Vernis Européen KommodeEichenholz, Schwarzlack, Bronze, Marmor; Eichenholzkorpus im Stil Louis XV, 2 große Laden, leicht bombiert, wellig ausgeschnittene Zarge mit geschweiften Beinen; die schwarzgründige Kartusche gefüllt mit fantasievoller chinoiser Landschaft in Goldlack, mit versetzter Architektur und teils berittener Figurenstaffage; an den seitlichen Kartuschen ist der frontseitige Dekor wiederaufgenommen; vergoldete Rocaillebronzen, Bronzebeschläge und -sabots, profilierte Marmorplatte; unter der Platte gestempelt: "L.FOURFEAU JME" (für Louis Foureau, Meister seit 1755); originale Lackmalerei, originale Schlösser, Schlüssel liegt bei86,5 x 124,5 x 57 cmÜber 30 Jahre arbeitete Louis Foureau (Meister 1755) in der Rue du Faubourg-Saint-Denis, wo er fast ausschließlich Lackmöbel im "goût de la Chine" fertigte. Seine ersten Arbeiten waren vor allem Louis-XV-Kommoden, klassische, elegant geformte Modelle mit diskreten Rocaillen-Bronzen; es scheint, als habe er später üppigeren und reicheren Bronze-Zierrat bevorzugt. Die Kommoden, Sekretäre, Encoignuren und Chiffoniers aus der Transition- und Louis XVI-Epoche wurden allseitig mit Landschaften, Tieren und Szenen "inspirées de l'Extrême-Orient" geschmückt. L. A collection of items relating to James Kirkwood, Provost of Govan, to include; a silver-gilt key from the opening of Govan Town Hall by Provost Kirkwood 4th Feb. 1901, bearing the arms of the Lanarkshire Artillery, an ivory-handled silver trowel presented to Provost James Kirkwood on the occasional of his laying the foundation stone of Govan Town Hall 17th Sept. 1898, the reverse engraved with the town hall and Masonic insignia, a gold medal of office to James Kirkwood JP 1918 with engraved gold top bar, a silver chain of office engraved Jamed Kirkwood 22nd March 1900, a heavy ivory gavel engraved with the Govan coat of arms and a heavy bronze Deacon Convener Trades House Glasgow badge.
