A JAPANESE BRONZE IKEBANA RIKKA VASE BY YOSHINO TAKEJI (1920-) SHOWA 1926-1989 The tall vessel rising elegantly from a tapering foot to a large flattened rim, the surface a deep honey-glazed colour with gold speckles, with a two character mark for Yoshino Takeji, a paper label for Gregg Baker London 5270, 19.5cm. Provenance: a Spanish private collection, Madrid, purchased from Gregg Baker London on 15th June 2003. A copy of the original invoice is available. Yoshina Takeji is the fourth generation of bronze artists in his family, which has been producing artworks since the 1800s. He was awarded several medals by the Japanese Government in 1975 and 1989 for the quality of his work favouring traditional casting techniques.
