An exhibition standard scratch built working scale model of a 36 foot Camper and Nicholson yacht tender Gelyce V at 1/8 scale (1380mm long) built from the original drawings (dated 1926) of double layer plank on frame construction with mahogany outer planking, fully fitted and detailed cabin and cockpit and a planked and calked deck, hull finished in varnish with red below the water line, cabin roof painted white, powered by a geared electric motor driving the scale three bladed bronze propeller via a stainless steel shaft, fully radio controlled, hand made brass deck fittings, glazed cabin windows are, all doors fully operational hung on brass hinges with brass fittings, all in excellent condition, together with the Camper and Nicholson drawings, builders construction notes, award certificate and radio control gear

A Stuart Double 10V twin cylinder vertical marine steam engine, in red with steel cylinder covers, steel spoked flywheel, fitted with copper inlet and exhaust pipes, oilers to all bearings, steel crankshaft in bronze bearings with bronze connecting rods linking to cross heads running in trunk guides, height 150mm, width 90mm length 130mm with an 80mm diameter flywheel *This model is the base version and is not fitted with the optional reversing gear although this is available from Stuart Turner

Three papier mâché and giltmetal commemorative medallic snuff boxes and covers and a supposed lock of Napoleon's hair, the covers of the three similar snuff boxes each inset with a glazed uniface embossed medallion or 'cliché', two signed MOREL FECIT, 8cm diam, the lock of hair in a folded piece of notepaper inscribed in a 19th c hand Bonepart's hair brought from St Helena by the Revd. Richd Boys, 1818; a bronze commemorative medallion, all early/mid 19th c (5) (see illustration) The Revd. Richard Boys was Principal Chaplain on St Helena at the time of Napoleon's death and acquired one of the several versions of the death mask of the emperor. ++ The lot in fine condition and an interesting group. Note: the flange of one of the snuff boxes slightly damaged

A Louis XV gilt bronze and porcelain candelabrum, the gilt bronze scrolling oval base set with an 18th century German porcelain figure of a bagpiper, in puce jerkin with ruff and yellow breeches, before a later giltmetal wirework tree with late 18th c, possibly French, porcelain flowers including a rose, dahlia and morning glory, 23cm h Provenance: The Dowager Lady Chesham, her sale Sotheby’s, 15 March 1966, lot 28, £220, to the family of the present vendor. Sold with a copy of the invoice. ++ Old damages/restoration in particular to the left hand of the bagpiper and some typical losses to the flower petals etc
