Ft de bronzes. A Paris', 41cm highFootnote: Footnote: The fondeur E. De Labroue worked with some of the most eminent sculptors of the 19th century, reproducing important carved marble sculptures in bronze. See a cast bronze by Labroue of the famous white marble figure by Joseph-Michel-Ange Pollet entitled, titled Une heure de la nuit . This bronze was exhibited at the Exposition Universelle in 1855 and is now in the Museum of Rheims. Pradier and Carrier-Belleuse also permitted De Labroue to reproduce their work.Condition report: Generally ok, but for some dents and scratches, including the base. Wear on the gilding/finish.

Lot 1178

A 19th century French gilt bronze bracket clock, with two train striking movement and Pompadour pink porcelain panels. Clock height 37 cm, width 19 cm, raised on a wooded plinth and complete with key and pendulum (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: Other than being a little dusty the clock case is in very good condition. The gilding is good throughout with no significant loss. The porcelain panels are not cracked. The movement is fully wound on the left hand facing train. It does wind on the right hand train. The movement is running but does seem to stop after a minute or so. When the hands are advanced it is not striking. The pendulum and key are both present as is the bell. The porcelain dial is in generally good condition with only very minor rubbing to the gilding. There is a small surface chip to the right of the numeral 3. This is a surface chip and the pieces have been reglued but there is some minor loss. This should be visible on our image. It is a minor issue. The wooded base is in generally good order with only minor rubbing to the gilding. The rope twist braiding is loose.

The lid is in good order with no damage or repairs. The base is also in good condition also again with no evidence of any damage, repairs or restoration.

Lot 557

A pair of Japanese bronze vases, decorated with chasing dragons. Height 26 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The vases are definitely metal but may well not be bronze. The top rim and foot rim appear bronze, but looking inside with a light the metal appears to have a more grey hue to it.
