1940s London Underground enamel, framed PLATFORM BULLSEYE SIGN from Mile End station on the Central, District and Hammersmith & City Lines. A small (21" x 15.5" - 53cm x 39cm), single-piece sign with its original bronze frame. Almost certainly dating from the 1946 opening of the Central Line extension, the sign retains the 1930s style of lining-out and was probably located either tunnel-side or on one of the pillars on the platforms. In excellent condition, just a couple of very small blemishes. This is a very uncommon sign. [1]
1930s London Underground small, framed STATION BULLSEYE SIGN 'Turnpike Lane' on the Piccadilly Line. Measuring 14" x 11" (36cm x 28cm), this is believed to have been located on the "Passimeter" (free-standing ticket office) in the booking hall. A one-piece sign with original bronze frame. A few light surface scratches but otherwise in very good condition. An exceptionally scarce item. [1 item in 2 parts]
London Underground enamel PLATFORM ROUNDEL from Earl's Court Station on the District and Piccadilly Lines. This is the smaller-size sign, from the track-side, measuring 24" (61cm) across by 20" (51cm) high, c1980s, in three parts plus bronze frame. The complete sign has been mounted on wood, the sign is in very good, ex-use condition except that the lower, outer ring of the frame has split from the bar at one end. [3 parts + frame]
