Frank Lynn Jenkins ( British 1870-1927) A hollow cast bronze bust of Mr Edward Pembroke. Edward Pembroke, who died aged 81 was chairman of Messrs. Galbraith, Pembroke and Co and one of the most prominent figures in London shipping circles. He became famous as being responsible for the first steamer to pass through the Suez canal in 1869. The bronze is accompanied by a period leather bound folio of newspaper cuttings, largely obituaries and other memories of the gentleman. 64 cm high, including marble socle. Signed Lynn Jenkins and dated 1915. Raised upon a fluted ebonised wood column
