JAPANESE WORLD WAR II SWORD KATANA, with 21 1/2" (53.3cm) long blade, the tang with two peg holes but unsigned, fabric bound fish skin grip incorporating two chrysanthemum flower Menuki, cast gilt bronze Tsuba with flowerhead relief decoration on matted ground, 31" (78.7cm) long overall in MID BROWN LEATHER SCABBARD, by repute taken from the body of a Japanese officer by Corporal Martin Nicholes, with the officers epaulette having two stars and brass stud with character marks and copies of black and white photographs showing corpse and group of British soldiers with war trophies etc.
