A pair of Louis Philippe gilt metal, bronze and verde antico five branch candelabra with scrolling foliate branches about central lights the spreading shafts decorated with acanthus upon triple dogs head claw feet and concave sided spreading scrolling bases, 73cm [2] Further Information The condition of this lot is good/very good. From our inspection there is very little damage on either of the candlesticks. There are a number of small chips to the marble bases, then a couple of slightly bigger chips. There is a very small minor damage around one of the dogs heads where it appears there is a small chip, It is however very insignificant and small. On the same candlestick, the central column has a very small chip at the point where it joins the bronze towards the bottom. These are the only damages I can see on this candlestick. On the other here is similar damage to the marble base. The only other thing we have noticed is on one of the branches it is slightly loose and it appears that the thread of the screw holding it in place has started to push through and made a small hole.
A pair of Restoration gilt metal bronze and white marble three branch candelabra the branches issuing from scrolling foliage and with berried foliate nozzles held by boys on turned plinths with milled collars and square bases, 60cm [2] Further Information On one candelabra the marble base is quite heavily chipped on the corners and edges. The gilt metal ring around the appears to be in good condition and so does the marble column. The bronze figure is in reasonable condition. The left hand is quite worn however. There is also a hole in the back of the figures head. The branches to the top of the candelabra all appear to be in tact and we have not picked up on any major damages. There is a very small amount of minor damage to the actual candle holders. The other candelabra is in a very similar condition to the other in terms of the base, figure, branches and actual candle holders. The figure of this one is slightly better in condition. Neither show any signs of repairs, the gilding is original there is not any evidence that suggest otherwise.
