Ca. AD 1600-1700.A bronze footed bowl with an elegant form, features a hemispherical shape, gracefully curving upwards from its base. Providing stability and visual harmony, the bowl is supported by a splayed, concave foot, expertly crafted to complement the overall aesthetic. These decorative elements, meticulously engraved onto the surface, showcase the artisans' exceptional skill in creating complex patterns and motifs. Just below the rim of the bowl, a band of calligraphic inscription adds a distinctive touch of elegance and cultural significance. The flowing script, skillfully etched into the metal, bears testament to the interplay between visual artistry and the written word that was prevalent in Safavid artistic traditions. The inscription, possibly conveying poetic verses, prayers, or auspicious wishes, adds a layer of meaning and symbolic depth to the bowl. Size: 110mm x 175mm ; Weight: 505g Provenance: Property of a London Islamic art specialist collector; previously in a collection formed since the 1980s.
