Er wird von der Kunstgeschichte als singulärer Stilbildner zwischen figurativer und abstrakter Plastik hervorgehoben. Kennzeichnet den Beginn seines frühen Oeuvres noch eine im weitesten Sinne klassizistische Grundhaltung, gewinnen im Laufe der 1950er Jahre kubistisch abstrahierende Formen an Bedeutung. Loth setzt sich neu mit dem Thema Figur auseinander und leistet zeitgleich mit Horst Antes einen entscheidenden Beitrag zur Neuen Figuration, die in Karlsruhe eine besondere Entwicklung genommen hat. Die Autonomie des Plastisch-Räumlichen bindet sich an die Leiblichkeit des weiblichen Körpers. Radikal drängt Loth auf das Fragmentieren hin und bändigt zunehmend die dynamische Körperlandschaft seiner Torsi mit geometrischen Umrissen.

Albert Werner-Schwarzburg, Der Kunstgießer, Bronzeplastik um 1900Albert Werner-Schwarzburg, 1857 als Albert Werner in Gösselborn - 1911 Breslau, deutscher Bildhauer, hier: Der Kunstgießer ( auch im Schlesischen Museum Görlitz ), ein Mann ist dabei den Gießeimer mit flüssiger Bronze in eine vor ihm stehende Gießform einzufüllen, Bronze mit goldbrauner Patina,H 27 cm, auf schwarzem Marmorsockel, Gesamt H: 39 cmAb 1876 lernte Albert Werner-Schwarzburg 2 Jahre an der Modellier- und Holzschnittklasse der Nürnberger Kunstgewerbeschule. Anschließend arbeitete er etwa acht Jahre in verschiedenen Werkstätten in Leipzig, Nürnberg und Wernigerode, ehe er von 1885 bis 1890 die Kunstakademie Berlin besuchte, wo er Schüler im Meisteratelier des Bildhauers Fritz Schaper wurde. Ab 1895 war er Mitglied des Vereins Berliner Künstler. Von 1899 bis 1911 unterrichtete er als Professor für Bildhauerei an der Königliche Kunst- und Gewerbeakademie in Breslau.

Juan Baptista Franconio. Late 16th century, based on the casting of Michelangelo Buonarroti's model."Christ"Gilded bronze sculpture.22.5 x 21 cm.Magnificent gilded bronze Christ. This is one of the pieces obtained by casting bronze from the model by Michelangelo, which Juan Baptista Franconio, an Italian silversmith, brought to Seville in 1597 from Rome, where he settled.The significance of the Christ by Michelangelo was such that it was one of the inspirational works of art that led Juan Martínez Montañés to create his Christ of the Chalices. Francisco Pacheco recounts this in his posthumously published "Art of Painting" in Seville in 1649.He mentions that Martínez Montañés made this sculpture following the posture of another Christ, describing it as follows: "Michaelangelo, the illustrious light of painting and sculpture, made a crucifix with four nails for a model, which we can now enjoy. Juan Baptista Franconio, a brave silversmith, brought it to this city, cast in bronze, in 1597, and after enriching all painters and sculptors with it, he gave the original to Pablo de Céspedes, a canon of the Holy Church of Córdoba, who held it with great esteem around his neck." It is now known that the original is, for the moment, unaccounted for.Pacheco also specifies in his writing that he applied on January 17th (1600) a matte polychrome to the first of these four-nail crucifixes he cast. One of the painters whose work was enriched by being able to capture such a sculptural marvel on canvas, was Diego Velázquez, due to family ties, as he was Pacheco's son-in-law. In Anselmo López Morais' article “Crucifijo de Miguel Ángel (Un ejemplar en colección particular de Orense)” (Crucifix by Michelangelo (A specimen in a private collection in Ourense))' the 'two portraits he made in 1620 in Seville of Mother Jerónima de la Fuente (one in the Prado Museum in Madrid and another, where [the crucifix] can be seen clearly, in the Fernández Araoz Collection, also in Madrid)' are mentioned. Precisely this article is very useful in order to contrast similarities between this sculpture and the one mentioned by Michelangelo cast by Franconio. Among other things, it states: "The news from Pacheco was collected by Manuel Gómez-Moreno who, intrigued for a long time by a series of metal images obtained by casting, attributes them, with many doubts, to the Granada sculptor Alonso Cano, but later identifies them as those obtained from the Crucifix by Michelangelo mentioned in the 'Art of Painting'."López Morais continues quoting Gómez-Moreno to define the detailed characteristics of the 22 cm Crucifix: "it imposes by its very sobriety of resources, an imposing start that enlarges such a small work, [and] the body hangs limp, with absolute mass symmetry, as in real life; the head, which is small, falls on the chest and leans slightly to the right; the hands contract, clenched; the left leg crosses over the right, as revealed by Saint Brigid, flattening the calf upon contact, and the foot is deformed by the pressure of the nail; the almost embryonic nature of his virile organs matches a narrowness of hips that gives predominance to the chest over the other members; the belly sinks, and the complexion, emaciated, accentuates bony reliefs rather than muscles, except in the arms where tension makes even the arteries visible, but it is all modelled with unsurpassed delicacy and art." In Spain, there are several known silver or bronze specimens considered to be original castings from Franconio. Originals are found in the Museum of Caminos in Astorga, Palacio de Oriente in Madrid, the Gómez-Moreno Museum in Granada, the Caja de Ahorros de Segovia, the Cathedral of Seville, and the Ducal Palace of Gandía, among others. Some others are unsure whether they were cast from the original or even at that time.The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York has a Christ and the two thieves in its collection with the registration number 37.28a–d, and currently attributes authorship for this figure of Christ as based on a model by Michelangelo Buonarroti. The question arises as to whether it was a casting made in Rome, a hypothesis supported by the context of the set, or whether, like ours, it is one of the examples made from Franconio, which is based, according to the MET, on "the quality of modeling and casting, both crisp and fluid, [which] brings it closer to numerous surviving silver copies in Spain". A mid-19th century French brown patinated bronze and ormolu cased mantel clock, the eight day movement with silk suspension, striking hours and half hours on a bell via an outside countwheel, the silvered circular dial within a cast gilt vine surround, the case with dog and child surmount, on a rectangular base with cast foliate scroll decoration, height 43.5cm, with pendulum and winding key, on a rosewood oval stand (some faults and lacking glass dome).

(13.8cm.) high and a figure with sedge type hat, wooden stands. (4) * Figure on stag with repair to head, stags antler broken, one wooden stand missing foot, otherwise good.

An important French Napoleonic bronze Pierrier cannon dated 1804 model 1786, the base ring inscribed “Fecit de J’ - Denis”, “an. 12” (1804) and the swell of the muzzle features a large feathered arrow. Further inscribed on the trunnions, one side bearing the gun’s weight, "173" French pounds and the other ‘No. 222’. 40½in. (103cm.) long, bore 2 7/8in. (7.3cm.). *The year "an.12" if from the French Republican Calendar which lasted for thirteen years from late 1793 until 1805. The model 1786 is regarded as the first French standardized swivel gun and remained in use by the French Navy until 1854. Pierrier’s were relatively short guns, this example measuring 40½in. (103cm.) firing medium weight (1lb), solid shot, designed for close range engagement. In this period, bronze cannons were preferable but more costly in material and time to produce, thus only a small percentage of cannons made in France were bronze, most were of iron. Consequently, any bronze artillery of this age is rare since many were melted down and the valuable metal recast as required for later conflicts. *Good condition.

A Dutch, 17th century, bronze bell with Christian imagery and a Latin inscription the classical frieze incorporating cherubs and figures of the Virgin Mary praying and Jesus holding a lamb, dated 1669, Latin inscription "SAN MARIA DE BUNDE RE AV R IO. PIET. ER ON, WAN WERVEK ENDE DHEER JAECQUES LETREN 1669" with a later scrolling iron work wall bracket, bell 11in. (27.9cm.) diameter, 11½in (29.2cm.) high, bracket 28½in. (72.4cm.) deep, 29¼in. (74.3cm.) high. *Bunde is a village in the Dutch province of Limburg. In 1714 the medieval church, where this bell may have come from, was replaced by the current church. The inscription refers to Saint Mary of Bunde and Pieter Wan [sic.] Wervek and the dheer Jaecques Letren, possibly maker and foundry.

Maurice Guiraud Riviere (France, 1881-1947) - Equestrian sculpture a large patinated bronze of two racehorses and jockeys against a rail, the saddles numbered 7 & 10, raised on textured rectangular plinth, signed M. Guiraud Riviere, 19 3/8 x 7 7/8in. (49.2 x 20cm.), 11 1/8in. (28.3cm.) high. *Both jockeys with hairline cracks down left hand side of faces, and one looking left also with further hairline to upper left side over ear, the number 10, left hand horse with very good restoration to upper tail (looks like it's been knocked off and re-attached), the other tail with possible fracture in the same place, very pleasing to the eye.
