Union Nationale des Societes de Tir de France, cast bronze plaque, signed H Dubois, for Barbedienne. Uniface, the design shows winged figure carrying a naked warrior away from the battle ground, a burning town behind. Honneur and Patrie either side, top ring mount, 253mm c 1894 GVF. A two part medallion “La Bretagne” in bronze, obverse lady in traditional dress sits beside a window, reverse Breton cross Calvary, by Dufresne and issued by SAMF. Each side is uniface bar four figure “4” raised to one side and incuse to the other which, when aligned show the medallion in the usual style. VF

A 5 shot 54 bore Beaumont Adams double action percussion revolver, 11½” overall, barrel 5¾” with Birmingham proofs and engraved on the top strap “Edwd. Whistler, 11 Strand, London”, the frame engraved “Adams Patent No 41078”, cylinder also engraved “No 41078”, with deeply chequered walnut butt. Good Working Order and Condition, retaining much original blued finish, the trigger guard polished bright; in its fitted green baize lined light mahogany case with circular brass escutcheon to lid, containing double cavity bronze mould (slightly damaged), brass mounted ebony cleaning rod, reproduction flask, nipple key and turnscrew, and a tin of Joyce percussion caps, with key to case. Good Condition (small split to back edge of the lid). Plate 34
A Vickers 1927 pattern Irish steel helmet, based on the Austrian pattern M16 helmet, repainted apple green, with padded leather lining by Smith & Son, Dublin, and leather chinstrap, the rear neck guard stamped “V. Ltd H9719 H427/’27”, the front with 2 small brackets for attaching the badge, with an Irish Free State bronze badge. GC (numerous small dents).
A group of 6 Third Reich medals: War Merit Cross 2nd class with swords, 1912 bronze medal “Verdienst um den Staat”, 12 year Army long service medal, 4 year Army long service medal, Faithful service decoration 1st class, and medal for 1st October 1938, mounted on bar as worn. GC; together with documents relating to the recipient, including Kraftfahrzeugschein, Stammbuch and Tatigfeitsliste.
