He entered the ranks of the Royal Tank Regiment in 1941, and ended up working as a Security Manager for IBM International, working from Hursley Park Winchester, retiring in 1988, he died in 1995, when the collection passed to his niece and more latterly her late husbandTo say that Frederick Owen Lewis led an interesting life is probably an understatement. He recorded a series of three audio tapes with the Imperial War Museum (reference 12021) where he talks of his time serving with the Federation of Malaya Police 1949-1955.
