An early 20th century eighteen sconce gilt bronze and cut glass hanging chandelier, the frame comprising florid and intertwined vines and branches supported by cast bronze floral straps, with prismatic cut glass hanging bag below, 160cm (63in) high. Also included in this lot are photographs and watercolours of Spencer's of Banbury before its demolition (Note: the chandelier originally hung in the London office of Mrs Dorothea Allen, the former owner of Spencer's, from there it later hung in the reception at Spencer's main office in Banbury)
Cesar, 1921-1998, LE PIED, signed, stamped with the foundry mark Valsuani, Cire Perdue and numbered 5/6, bronze, height 44cm.; 17.25in. Conceived in 1963, this work is from an edition of 6 examples plus 1 HC, cast in 1964. The original iron sculpture of this work was made by Cesar for his friend Roger Vivier, esteemed shoemaker at Christian Dior, and was exhibited outside his shop in the Rue Francois Premier in Paris.
Clive Barker, b.1940, LIFE MASK OF FRANCIS BACON , bronze, 22x15cm.; 8.75x5.75in. Executed in 1969, this work is a prototype for the edition of 8 plus 2 artist's proofs and is the only example of this work mounted in this way. The polyester cast of Francis Bacon's face was taken in the artist's studio by a specialist in death masks.
