After Pietro Tacca (1577-1640): A pair of andirons with Moorish slaves, patinated bronze, most probably 17th C. and later--H 72 - 70 cmÊ H 45 - 42 cm (without the base) Ê Ê The sculptures most probably 17th C. The bronze bases of a later date (19th C.). Ê The inspiration for these sculptures was found at the 'Monumento dei Quattro Mori' (The Monument of the Four Moors), located at Piazza Micheli in Livorno and completed in 1626 to commemorate the victories of Ferdinand I of Tuscany over the Ottomans. The monument was created by the famous Italian sculptor Pietro Tacca and it takes its name from the four bronze statues of 'Moorish slaves' at the base of the monument, which represent the four corners of the world (link). A 19thC figure group stand, formed as three various cast bronze figures, attached to a shaped base, 19cm H, and a carved figure of a seated god, probably Chinese. (2) Upon initial inspection the base of the stand is starting to part at the joins as you look front right currently held together with tape.
An 18thC Chinese cloisonne Qianlong mark and period tripod Ding form censer, decorated with stylized lotus scrolls and flower heads on a blue background, the base incised with a four character Qianlong mark, with an additional character beneath, 8.5cm H. This incense burner belongs to a group of gilt-bronze and cloisonne enamel works of art with incised Qianlong kaishu marks and an additional single-character. There is no apparent damage or restoration upon initial inspection, but note damage to box.
A pair of Chinese bronze vases, each with cylindrical stems and shouldered circular bodies, raised with entwined dragons, each with four and five claws, with further etched and raised flowers, on circular feet, four character marks beneath, 26cm H. (2) Upon initial inspection vase one should in theory have had a second pair of claws towards the end of the tail around the neck but they are missing. Vase two has a similar issue with a single claw missing in the same place, around the body there is one small loss to the rear of a dragon's head and a fracture to the metal around the neck.

(2)The well of the jardiniere decorated with a phoenix. The jardiniere with several small pierced holes to the relief areas. It also has a couple of minor dents. The koro with damage enamel which someone has tried to repair (badly).
