Censor with no obvious faults.

A bronze Water Dropper, late Ming dynasty (1368-1644), in the form of a recumbent water buffalo, surmounted by a figure, small details missing, probably in the casting, 11cm, original wood stand, distressed (2) ?? ????????, 50% of arms and some details missing, probably through casting. Antiquated patch mark to belly underside. Stopper missing. The stand - a quarter section missing from the base, the remaining section broken and glued.

A bronze Bodhisatteva, possibly Wanli (1573-1620), thinly cast cross-legged on a lotus throne, her hands in vitarka mudra, a vase and bird to each shoulder and wearing a high crown, the whole later red-painted, 27.7cm ???(??) ??????, Red lacquer chipped to nose, chin, hands, bird and other high points and further throughout the figure.

A Sino-Tibetan small gilt bronze seated figure of a Lama, 18th century, well cast and seated cross-legged, his hands in blessing flanked by budding leaves and wearing a peaked cap, the base with a vajra, the whole gilt but with slight wear, 10.5cm ????? ??????? , Thumb and index finger on left hand repaired (both with gilding erased), index finger with dents. Gilding rubbed on high points throughout, top of headdress with gilding erased.

A bronze Incense Burner, probably 17th/18th century, the depressed onion body on three bracket feet, with twin dragon handles, illegible cast mark, 19.5cm ???/????(??) ?????? , A mainly even patination to the body, though there is a rubbed patch to the underside. No other obvious faults

A bronze Censer, early 17th century, the depressed body cast with lion mask handles, six character Xuande mark, small dents, 16.5cm The almost exact parallel between this bronze and a comparable blanc de chine example supports the theory that the latter were copied from bronze originals and both in the region of Fujian. ?????? ????? ®??????¯????, One handle with slightly flattened nose on one side. Small nicks to rim.

A good small bronze Figure, AFC Han Dynasty (206BCE - 220CE), of the Buddha seated on pierced scrolling cloud ruyi, the head with attachment, all with an attractive silvery-grey-green patina, 6.5cm, fixed wood stand Buddhism came to China during the Han Dynasty (206BC to 220CE) in all probability around 65CE. It may have arrived either by land or by sea, but the latter is mostly discredited. ? ????????, No obvious faults.

Five bronze Bells, AFC Tang Dynasty (618-906), each with cross-hatching or studs, one with clapper, damage, 3.6 to 6.2cm, and two Appliqu‚s of thumbnail form, 3.2cm (7) Miniature bronze bells were interred in children`s graves in Henan to summon benevolent spirits. ? ???? ?????????, Three bells with deterioration holes. One bell with small corner section missing. One bell with clapper intact. All items with encrustations.

A bronze Official, AFC Ming dynasty (1368-1644), standing holding a spear and his belt, his robes engraved with scrolling lotus and wearing a cap with streamers, traces of a gilding and lacquer, minor deficiencies, 22.2cm ? ?????, Tips to hat missing. The right hand tip of hat ribbon missing. Tip of spear shaft missing. Lacquer finish rubbed throughout.

A massive bronze Temple Incense Burner and Cover, mid 17th century, the bun body and annular ring stem with archaic patterns and precious objects, and with high relief immortals on animals between three large chilong handles, the domed cover pierced with clouds and curled foxes below a Buddhist lion and pup, the flared foot with sealife, some damage and wear, 111cm ???? ????????????????, Some old repairs and restoration to cover. 33cm section of footrim split and repair attempted. Previously this has been lacquered, the majority of which is now missing. A deity with a hand missing.

A good inlaid hardwood Figure, late 19th century, of a bearded scholar, the elongated figure carved in simple robes with knotted belt, inlaid with a taotie mask and clouds, the reverse with a six character archaic Qianlong mark, his head and feet in well carved ivory, looking upwards with a broad smile and with black detailed long beard, wearing a cloth cap, lacking ribbons, on a fixed cloisonn‚-rimmed stand and bronze feet, also with a six character Qianlong mark, four bronze bat feet, 73cm ?????? ?????????? ???®??????¯???, Shrinkage to ivory beard. Some losses to ivory decoration at rear of head (mount marks at centre of shoulder blades). A loose wire below beard. Base missing finials along rail. 8cm split along top of base.

A bronze standing Buddha, Chola Period, 12th/13th century, from Nagapattinam, Tamil Nadu, modelled with a flaming ushnisha on tightly curled hair, urna on his forehead, the right hand in abhayamudra (gesture of reassurance/protection), the left hand in varadamudra (gesture of giving), each palm incised with auspicious markings, wearing a close fitting sanghati with incised folds, a serene face with downcast eyes and gentle smile, standing on a round double-lotus base above a stepped rectangular plinth incised with lotus petals around the base, the reverse inscribed in Tamil, some small traces of red pigment, 21.5cm Portable bronze Buddhas such as this served to perpetuate artistic and religious connections between India and South East Asia. The Buddhist Monastic complex in Negapattinam was the largest in Medieval South India. A champlev‚ and cast bronze cach pot, c.1900, each side with a panel of either a shinto tori-i or a temple, on a ground of ho-o and auspicious animals, 28.5cm, and a five-legged hardwood stand, carved with gourds, 53.5cm (2) , cache pot - old solder repairs to split rim, some pitting to champleve enamel as is often seen in this type of enamel but no losses. Stand - is structurally sound, however it does have some cracks, and some knees to scroll legs are coming loose.
