Ex Bottomley collection, West Yorkshire, UK. Among the Senufo people from West Africa, chameleons represent the primordial animal in the creation myth and such rings were worn exclusively by men. In divination, the chameleon’s physical features and behaviour are transposed and serve as images for the initiator's teachings. Fine condition, worn. [No Reserve]
