An unusual early 20th century Continental bronze automaton clock decorated with figures, a pipe smoking male figure with nodding head to left operating the tongue of a dog seen looking through a central window, a courting couple depicted to the right of the white enamel clock face (the whole modelled as a log cabin).

A bronze Buddha Head, 14th century or earlier. 十四世纪或更早 鎏金铜菩萨头 CONDITION REPORT: Thinly cast around right ear, now showing cracks and holes to front and rear of ear. Filled hole to neck, further holes to rear of neck and front of neck. Two holes at rear of head. Hole to rear of left cheek. Infill missing to top of head and a hole to the top of head. Lacquer and gilding decoration worn. Country of origin: Thailand. Dimensions: overall 42cm. Head 30cm.

An attractive bronze Guanyin, late Ming/early Qing, seated cross-legged on a lotus throne holding a disc, the hair and other details finely chased, fingers restored, chip to hair, 22.5cm, contemporary wood stand (2) The depression on the headdress and necklace would originally have held jewels. While the figure is Chinese in style, the strong possibility remains that it is actually Japanese; the hair particularly is indicative. 明末清初 铜铸观音坐像 CONDITION REPORT: Right hand section of hair ornament missing, left hand fingers repaired, one lotus petal broken at rear. The wood stand with some losses.

A Japanese sword Wakizashi, c 1600, blade 18½, signed Bizeu Osafune Sukesada. All fittings are edged with gold line, brown moulded saya, bronze tsuba deeply raised with gilt floral, foliage and dragon. Fuchi kashira, gilt lined en suite, menuki of tablet form. Gilt habaki, gilt lined shibabiki, Ishizuke and Kurikata, brown tsuka ito over ray skin. Signed kosuka with raised floral and fruit bowl. Good Condition blade partly polished. Plate 19

Good Working Order and Condition, retaining approximately 50% of original blued finish (small patches of pitting),in its original green baize lined fitted mahogany case with brass escutcheon in lid, containing double cavity bronze mould for 2 grooved bullets, small copper flask by Dixon (spring missing), loading/cleaning rod, an original tin with label for Tranters Patent Lubricating Bullets, containing lubricant and some bullets, and a later cap tin. Good Condition (minor external wear to case). Plate 38

Working Order and Clean Condition, retaining approximately 75% or original blued finish (action requires minor attention, one nipple AF); in a well fitted maroon velvet lined mahogany case with reproduction Deane, Adams & Deane trade label, containing Robt Adams marked double cavity 54 bore bronze mould, Hawksley flask (spring replaced, file marks to top), nipple key, cleaning rod, pewter oil bottle, tin for Armstrong & Co percussion caps, some loose bullets, and key to the case.
