After the war, which had interrupted his studies, he was commissioned to produce a statue of the figure of David for the Italian Committee for National Liberation and in 1947 the sculptor, along with the anti-fascist leader General Cordona, presented the figure to the British Special Forces in London in honour of their work with the partisans. He then moved to London but continued to exhibit in Paris and New York.
