Salvador Dal', 1904-1989 CABINET ANTHROPOMORPHIQUE inscribed Dal', stamped Fonderia Mibrosa and numbered 168/330 bronze length: 64cm.; 23.625in. Conceived in plaster in 1973 and cast in bronze in three sizes: 23cm.; 64cm. and 186cm. According to Robert Descharnes, the present cast was executed at the Fonderia Mibrosa in Barcelona.

Verus (1) and M. Aurelius (1), various reverse types, mixed grades but several very fine or rather better, probably an old hoard; together with a sestertius of Trajan, rev. (Brown II, 3585), the otherwise plain edge engraved in running script '22 June 1897, Bicycle Competition Prize, M.P. Loader Symonds', some light bruising to rims both sides, otherwise very fine or better, the medal a rare commemorative with the added cycling interest; and another unrelated Victorian bronze prize medal, this extremely fine (2)

An interesting group of 5 to Lieut. (later Major) G.E.F. Van der Noot, Irish Guards, formerly Head Chorister at St. George's Chapel, Windsor, and a Railway Transport Officer in the Second World War, comprising: British War & Victory Medals (Lieut.); Defence & War Medals; Coronation, 1902, bronze medal, mounted court-style for wearing, generally extremely fine; together with a miniature Coronation 1902 medal (6) Also included with the lot is a [disbound] scrapbook containing numerous items relating to the recipient's time as a chorister at St. George's Chapel, Windsor, in addition to his military career; these include two named tickets for the 1902 Coronation at which event Van der Noot was singing [one is dated 26th June, the other is undated and is presumably for the second ceremony on 9th August which had been delayed due to the King's illness], a souvenir 'Account of the Music at the Coronation', and a named ticket (to the Organ Loft) for the marriage of H.R.H. Princess Alice of Albany to H.S.H. Prince Alexander of Teck (Windsor, 10th February 1904); military ephemera includes a War Office letter concerning a wound and another official letter indicating that the recipient was serving in Cologne with the Army of Occupation in Feb. 1919. During the Second World War Van der Noot was R.T.O. at Euston & St. Pancras Stations.

Cpl.); British War & Victory Medals (both Pte.), with bronze Memorial Plaque and Scroll (both named to Frederick George Hodges) Pte. A.R. Hodges, The Queen's Regiment: British War & Victory Medals; Queen's Regiment, P.O.W.'s 'Welcome Home' medal, bronze (unnamed), all with traces of old cleaning and the Memorial Plaque with glue residue on reverse, otherwise mostly extremely fine (8) F.G. Hodges was killed in action with the B.E.F., 29th August 1918.
