Palm tree form with two tone bronze tree top with black cast and gilt fret pierced leaves raised on twin spot twin chain bulb holders. Central globular section column over cylindrical pillar raised on square base over flat bun feet. Cast B&H makers mark to underside. Measures approx; 50cm x 30cm.
Gabriel Viardot - A 19th Century French Japonisme stained beech twin pedestal writing table desk. Shaped altar top with gallery section set with drawers and shelves having carved detailing, mother of pearl inlay, carved dragon to back and coin handles. The top inlaid with shibayama motifs. Central kneehole recess flanked by a pedestal of drawers having further motifs set with bronze turtle handles. All raised on stepped paw feet. Measures approx; 122cm (82cm to top) x 121cm x 60cm. Kneehole 69cm x 49cm. Gabriel Viardot (1830-1906) was a famous Parisian cabinetmaker specializing in the production of “Chinese-Japanese genre” furniture in the last third of the 19th century

A 19th century Nepalese ritual butter lamp – Sukunda. Cast and chiselled bronze of baluster form and repousse ribs to emulate lotus petals. The handle is cast in the form of a dragon and the lamp dish as a leaf. Together with a chained rope twist long spoon. Sukunda lamps are indigenous to the Newar people of the Kathmandu Valley. They are used for a wide range of religious and social purposes. Approximately 14cm tall.

A fine Gothic Revival parcel-gilt and engraved bronze table casket, by Giroux & Co. (1810-1886),Paris, circa 1860-70Having a domed cover with applied shield, over a rectangular base, each corner with a tracery niche enclosing an ivory figure of a Monarch, the whole bound with pierced quatrefoil strapwork and engraved with scrolling floral and vine foliage, the lock plate engraved 'Alph Giroux et Cie - a Paris', 23.5cm wide, 20cm high to top of handle, 15.5cm deep. CITES ref. In 1838 the company was inherited by Giroux's two sons, Alphonse-Gustave (1775-1848) and André, who under the name of Giroux & Cie expanded the business, showing and frequently winning medals at the 'Exposition des Products de I'industrie Française'
